The Seiko Prospex collection welcomes the new Marinemaster GPS Solar Dual-Time, the first watch, other than Astron, to incorporate Seiko’s unique GPS Solar technology.
Equipped with the GPS Solar Caliber 8X53, this nautical sports watch offers the exact time and time zone at sea. In the endurance sailing sports, it is vital so that communication with the team back home can be synchronized, even in the waters near the poles, where time zones change with far greater speed than at the Equator.
With one touch of a button, this GPS-controlled, solar-powered watch adjusts to the exact local time anywhere on earth, on land or at sea, using just the power of light. Furthermore, the Dual-Time function allows an ocean sailor to know at a glance the time in his or her home port as well as local time.
The new Seiko Prospex Marinemaster GPS Solar Dual-Time watch (SSF001J1) is capable of handling the harsh conditions that every ocean racer has to face.
The titanium case and bracelet employ corrosion-resistant super-hard coating. Fitted with a ceramic bezel, screw-down case back and crown, the watch is 20 bar (200m) water resistant.
Thanks to the AR-coated sapphire crystal glass, the wide, prow-shaped markers and Lumibrite coating on the hands and indexes ensure excellent legibility in any weather, day or night.
The crown and buttons are easy to operate, even when gloves are worn. Moreover, the case and bracelet are shaped to avoid any edge catching a rope or line.
The Prospex Marinemaster GPS Solar Dual-Time watch is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces.
