Meccaniche Veloci Presents the MV 8801 In-House Movement

Meccaniche Veloci, the Italian-Swiss watchmaker based in Geneva, presents its first in-house movement, the MV 8801. The special feature of this new automatic mechanism is that it allows for the separate and simultaneous tracking of four different time zones. The new calibre will be assembled in the new Icon and Quattro Valvole models, which have been redesigned for the occasion. The development of this in-house mechanical movement waves the racing flag of Meccaniche Veloci into the world of luxury watchmaking.

The acronym MV 8801 reflects the initials of the brand and the first two digits “88”are a visual replica of the four separate displays that have always featured in the Icon and Quattro Valvole models, aside from being the numbers of good fortune in the Eastern culture. The “01” indicates that this is the first movement developed in-house by Meccaniche Veloci. The MV 8801 will have new watch dials: the very first model, the Money Maker, will be presented at the SIHH at the end of January 2016.
