The 88 RUE DU RHONE 1820 OLD GLORY watch offers the brand a perfect mix between classicism and contemporary design, fusing the colours of the American flag – red, white & blue, where the name of this timepiece was born and where the inspiration for the design comes.
Although the date is uncertain, Old Glory was made and presented to the young Captain Diver by his mother back in 1820s and remains possibly the most highly recognized country flag ever created.
Featuring a 45mm stainless steel case, the 88 RUE DU RHONE Double 8 Origin 1820 OLD GLORY timepiece is a statement piece that exudes confidence and drive. The timepiece is powered by a Swiss-made RONDA Quartz Chronograph caliber featuring 5 jewels. The case houses a silver dial with the USA flag motif and blue Arabic numerals.
For the first time ever, 88 RUE DU RHONE uses a diamond stud at 8 o’clock to represent prosperity. This timepiece’s functions include small seconds’ counter at 6 o’clock, 10 hours’ at 3 o’clock and 30 minutes’ at 9 o’clock, a tachymeter ring and a two-date window at 6 o’clock.
The silver dial and case are offset with a striking red seconds hand with an 8-shaped counterweight. The 1820 OLD GLORY is finished with a blue Nato strap, using the same fabric as war medals use, with contrasting red stitching and stainless steel ardillon buckle. It has a water resistance of 5ATM.
