This new 36mm Oris Aquis Date is a high-spec mechanical diving watch that features a luxurious and eye-catching bezel inlay made of a material called cermet.
Oris is an independent Swiss company that produces some of the world’s most innovative diver’s watches, with pioneering functions that make a real contribution to a diver’s kit bag.
Cermet is a metal and ceramic alloy that combines the structural integrity of ceramic with the allure of gold. It has the lightweight, scratch-resistant properties that have made ceramic such a popular material choice in luxury diver’s watches, and also the dressy, summer-party looks of an evening wear watch.
Rose gold-plated hands and indices and a white rubber strap complete the glamorous look. Its 36mm stainless steel case is water-resistant to 30 bar/300 metres, and that bezel only rotates in an anticlockwise direction, a safety feature that guarantees a diver can never inadvertently extend the dive time.
The Aquis Date is powered by an automatic mechanical movement based on SW 200-1 calibre. The movement, complete with Oris’s signature Red Rotor, is visible through a sapphire crystal case back.
