British luxury watch maker Christopher Ward further develop their range of models incorporating their proven in-house Calibre SH21 movement with the launch of the C9 5 Day Small-Second Chronometer – a classically styled, hand-wound execution with a small second display at the 6 O’clock position, housed in the stylish C9 dress case.
A year on from the stunning summer arrival of Christopher Ward’s first in-house movement, developed over 4 years by Johannes Jahnke, the brand presents the C9 5 Day Small-Second Chronometer (40mm).
With Calibre SH21, Johannes Jahnke’s innovative use of the Baukasten system design approach unleashed a powerful and versatile movement that Christopher Ward has now incorporated across aseries of models, including the C9 Dress collection, the Trident Dive/Sports collection and the stunning limited edition C8 P7350.
This new C9 hand-wound execution carries a small second display at 6 O’clock, housed in the classic C9 dress case that is used across the brand’s flagship range of Dress models. Blued hands in elegant curved forms flatter the optic white dial and roman indexes, bringing enhanced elements of clean elegance and refinement to the C9 Collection. Backed by Calibre SH21’s twin barrel construction in series connection, providing 120 hours power reserve, the new model also features a hacking central second hand and a date function (positioned at 3 O’clock).
The robust nature of the Calibre SH21 movement provides a stable foundation to the reliability of the C9 Small-Second and, with each movement given the accolade of chronometer status by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), precision and accuracy is guaranteed.
Each watch is hand crafted by Christopher Ward’s own Swiss watchmakers at their atelier in Biel, perfectly blending Swiss mechanical precision with a quintessentially English design aesthetic. The C9 5 Day Small-Second Chronometer is presented with an embossed alligator-pattern Italian leather strap (in black, brown or blue) with Bader Deployment or integrated bracelet option and is available now from £1295.
