With its distinctly masculine temperament, the new Commander Caliber 80 Chronometer is a timepiece that is honed for performance. Its latest-generation chronometer movement, developed in accordance with Mido’s exacting standards, ensures up to 80 hours of power reserve.

A boon for sports enthusiasts, who will appreciate the Commander Caliber 80 Chronometer as a robust, reliable watch combining timeless design with high-precision technology. Touches of orange embellish the dial, evoking the Mido colours and accentuating the model’s sporty look, while the anthracite sunray satinated finish conveys the characteristic elegance of the Commander collection.

A slender, round case in satinated steel endows the Commander collection with an inimitable and immediately recognisable silhouette, just like the Eiffel Tower. And like this unique structure, it has withstood the test of time and retained an eternally youthful aspect. Its exceptional lifespan is indisputable proof of its success: the Commander has been produced by Mido without interruption since 1959.

It has thus spanned more than five decades, preserving the DNA that has forged its reputation. In much the same way as Paris’s symbolic monument, the Commander has become a genuine icon; the epitome of Swiss watchmaking tradition and expertise. Its clean, simple lines make it one of the best expressions of Mido’s philosophy: timelessness is a mark of true design.

The new Commander Caliber 80 Chronometer represents a fusion of high performance and elegance. Its robust case protects a cutting-edge automatic movement: the Caliber 80. Designed to meet Mido’s high standards, it has a power reserve of up to 80 hours.

This exceptional autonomy goes hand in hand with unbeatable precision: the movement is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). The dial, safe beneath a faceted and domed sapphire crystal, presents a magnificent contrast between the anthracite sunray satinated finish and the brilliance of polished indexes.

Coupled with the generous opening of the case, this contrast gives the model unrivalled readability, as do the touches of orange – subtle reminders of Mido’s visual identity – that grace the seconds hand and the minute-circle numerals. All these qualities combined emphasise the sporty, elegant nature of the Commander Caliber 80 Chronometer.

The timepiece is fitted with a satinated steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter and a polished bezel. The aperture at 3 o’clock displays the day and date. Delicate touches of white Super LumiNova® decorate the hour and minute hands as well as the indexes, guaranteeing easy readability, even at night.

Water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m / 165 ft), this model is fitted with a satinated steel bracelet. The Commander Caliber 80 Chronometer also offers the fascinating view of decorative work adorning the automatic movement through the transparent case back.

This model is available in several versions.
