Swiss watch manufacturer Oris introduces the new Audi Sport GMT – the latest product of its formidable partnership with Audi Sport racing team.
The independent Swiss brand joined forces with Audi Sport at the end of 2013. Audi Sport has won the famous endurance event at Le Mans a record 13 times since 2000 – most recently topping the podium in June 2014 with the Oris-sponsored Audi R18 e-tron quattro.
The high-performance Audi Sport GMT is based on the Oris Artix GT Chronograph, and sports the unique Oris-developed retrograde small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, which fills with red over the course of 60 seconds, like the rev counter on a modern race car.
Another Oris innovation is the rubber coating on the outside edge of its bi-rotating bezel, which is designed to give the wearer a precise grip and help them make quick, confident adjustments.
The Audi Sport GMT’s multi-piece 44mm case is crafted from stainless steel, while its matt dial is tailored to mimic Audi’s dashboard instrument panels and finished in the German car brand’s signature silver.
This timepiece is equipped with a newly developed Oris automatic GMT movement based on Sellita SW 220-1, which gives the watch a useful second time zone that’s indicated via an eye-catching red central hand pointing to the 24-hour scale around the dial.
The Audi Sport GMT comes on a leather racing-inspired perforated strap with a stainless steel clasp. It is also available with a stainless steel bracelet.
