Louis Erard has already initiated subtly revealing dials: the Small Second Open springs to mind. This time, however, the Watchmaker pulls out all the stops when paying tribute to Haute Horlogerie and its traditions.
The dial of the Excellence Skeleton watch has been cut away so that the movement is almost entirely visible. Its wheels are laid bare, ready for Louis Erard to embellish them with a brushed finish.
Its mechanical insides and nerves of steel make this a quietly yet unmistakably masculine watch spanning tradition and modernity.
A transparent back completes this style statement in which aesthetic and precision are perfectly poised. For the rest, Louis Erard looks to the original with large Roman numerals against a white chapter ring, a 40 millimetre steel case and blue hands. A black strap prolongs this noble architecture.
The Small Second Open watch boasts the signatures that have come to define Louis Erard. The 40 millimetre case is host to a white or a black dial. The star attraction, however, is at 6 o’clock. Beneath the indefatigable small seconds hand, the openwork dial allows a glimpse of the hand-wound movement.
