The Marinemaster series has long been renowned for the security and precision required for professional diving activities. The new Seiko Marinemaster Professional 1000m Diver’s (reference SBDX014) embodies the very best of the brand’s five decades of experience in serving the needs of divers.
In 1965, Seiko launched Japans’ first diving watch. The year 1975 witnessed the introduction of Professional diver’s 600m, the world’s first diver’s watch with a titanium case. This timepiece came with a many innovations like two-layer case construction, accordion-style strap and a new gasket shape and material. Now the brand commemorates the 50th anniversary of its first diving watch with new Marinemaster models.
Like its 1975 predecessor, the new Marinemaster Professional 1000m Diver’s has the two-layer case construction that is now the trademark of Seiko’s professional diver’s watches.
Thanks to the strength of the inner case structure, the specially designed L-shaped gasket and the screw-down glass fixing ring, the watch is effectively impermeable to helium and can be safely used for saturation diving to great depths. The use of ceramic for the outer shell enhances shock resistance and also prevents any unintentional rotation of the bezel.
This new Seiko Marinemaster Professional 1000m Diver’s SBDX014 watch incorporates Caliber 8L35, a self-winding mechanical movement specially adjusted for a diver’s watch. The hands and markers employ a new version of Seiko’s Lumibrite, which glows for 60% longer than in the past. The strap in extra-strength silicone offers flexibility and greater durability.
On the occasion of 50th anniversary of Japan’s first domestically produced diving watch, Seiko is also offering the Marinemaster Professional 1000m Hi-Beat 36000 Limited Edition diving watch.
