Released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Japan’s first diving watch, Seiko Prospex SBDX012 Domestic Divers 50th Anniversary watch follows the dial design of Japan’s first “mechanical high beat (10 vibrations) 300m diver’s watch” announced in 1968.

Its black dial boasts golden hands and indices. The lock of the attached replacement band is the same gold color as the dial design. Also, on the back side, “LIMITED EDITION” and the serial number are stamped as proof of the limited model.

This model features an ultra-high airtight one-piece structure that offers high air-tightness and waterproofness. The one-piece structure prevents helium gas from entering the case and a unique L-shaped packing. The watch houses the Seiko 8L35 automatic movement.

The Marinemaster 300m Domestic Divers 50th Anniversary watch (reference SBDX012) features a stainless steel case, topped with a dual curved Hardlex glass. The case and bracelet are treated with Seiko’s unique surface treatment technology “Diashield”, which protects the watch’s original beautiful shine and finish.

The crown is placed at 4 o’clock position crown for excellent safety. The unidirectional rotating diving bezel offers operability, safety, and durability. In addition, the letters on the bezel are given a golden finish by laser anodization.

The proprietary Lumibrite application on the hands and indexes improves dial visibility in dark places such as at night and in the deep sea.

Waterproof to 300 meters, this Seiko Prospex timepiece is suitable for saturation diving. It is also impervious to the adverse effects of magnetic field of up to 4,800A/m.

The Seiko Marinemaster 300m Domestic Divers 50th Anniversary model (reference SBDX012) is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces. With the Seiko Prospex SBDX012 watch, the brand is also offering a replacement band made of urethane.
