The Portugieser Tourbillon Hand-Wound (Ref. 5463) in this year’s Portugieser collection has undergone no modifications. In contrast to the IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Mystère Rétrograde, its minute tourbillon is positioned at “9 o’clock” rather than “12 o’clock”, but is likewise “flying”.
The dial was selected to complement the case: slate-coloured for the 18-carat white gold version and silver-plated for the model in 18-carat red gold. The IWC-manufactured 98900-calibre movement with its intricately decorated nickel-silver three-quarter bridge can be admired through the transparent sapphire-glass back.
It supplies the watch with a convenient 54-hour power reserve and is part of the long tradition of the 98 calibre, which was manufactured for the hunter pocket watch from the 1930s onwards and has since been subject to continuous improvement. The balance has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, which guarantees an outstanding level of accuracy.
The IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Hand-Wound watch is worn with a dark brown Santoni alligator leather strap.
