Franck Muller Setted Bridge Giga Tourbillon

Swiss luxury watch maker Franck Muller has unveiled its world premiere timepiece – Setted Bridge Giga Tourbillon – at the WPHH 2015 exhibition held in Geneva.

A true combination of haute horlogerie craftsmanship and fine jewellery aesthetic, allows the emblematic design of this timepiece to be respected to perfection. A new patent reflects the expertise and creativity of the house of Franck Muller.

56 diamonds of 0.32 carats in total gracefully set on the rotating frame of the 20 mm diameter Giga Tourbillon, characterised by the patented FM escapement. Six months of research and development with intricacy perfectly combines the solution for the centre gravity and the elegance of the tourbillon.

Confronted with the challenge of the diamonds weight influence on the sensitive tourbillon, Franck Muller’s research and development department has presented a new setting style, grain setting (sertissage à grain) with diamonds across the frame, graciously minimizing the height and weight of the frame.

Powered by four barrels, the new Giga tourbillon cage adopts the material titanium instead of stainless steel for traditional tourbillon. A better coefficient of elasticity helps absorbing the impact while increasing the resistance of the components.

The movement entirely conceptualised and manufactured in-house, is finished with circular graining, rhodium plating and hand beveling.

Available in the 18-carat white gold Curvex case and Round case, the Giga Tourbillon highlighted by the precious and dazzling stones is a magnificent expression of the Master of Complications.
