Since its debut in 2004, the TimeWalker Collection from Montblanc has quickly established itself as an icon in contemporary fine watchmaking with its expressive design of the 43-millimetre case, which combines clean lines with architectonic shapes. Lending sporty elegance and masculinity, the Montblanc Time Walker carries its unique aesthetics and features the signature skeletonised horns, a narrow bezel, a large dial with Arabic numerals in a distinctive, clearly contoured typography, and the characteristic lancet shaped hands.
Truly reflecting the spirit of the times, the Montblanc TimeWalker radiates an ever more modern aura while preserving its original appeal and assertive character. Always honouring the tradition of fine Swiss watchmaking while nurturing innovation, the new Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Choreograph, is a contemporary sports chronograph that remains true to its TimeWalker lineage.
The Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Choreograph being technically very sophisticated epitomizes a dynamic urban feel. While its style reinterprets the powerful and meticulously-crafted lines of the TimeWalker Collection, the new Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Choreograph makes huge strides forward in design and technology by combining special materials.
Instantly, the “cold grey” sand-blasted steel case and the innovative materials such as the black ceramic bezel bear of the TimeWalker Urban Speed Choreograph, witness to its dynamic spirit and technical elegance. This sporty elegance continues on the TimeWalker Urban Speed Choreograph dial, which succeeds in offering a composed look while remaining clear and legible. Making use of its black background to accentuate the white numerals and dynamic red elements on the central chronograph hand and the minute scale, it plays with perspectives that emphasise the counters positioned at “6 and 12 o’clock” and allow the chronograph indications to be instantly readable. The periphery bears the seconds scale for the chronograph’s slender elapsed seconds hand and is subdivided into readily legible quarter-of-a-second increments to match the 4 Hz pace of the movement. The middle stratum, which covers the centre and the periphery of the dial, is embellished with a fine embossed pattern of circular striations.
The dynamic red elements, a significant design code of this collection, extend the contemporary design concept of the Montblanc TimeWalker collection which combines clean lines with architectonic shapes, to the collections of writing instruments and men’s accessories translating the dynamic, progressive red design elements as distinctive signature to all products of this cross-category collection.
The window in the case back offers a clear view of the automatic mechanical Calibre MB 25.07 which guarantees reliability and precision. Equipped with an integrated chronograph function, this calibre is manufactured in accord with all the rules that govern the art of Swiss fine watchmaking. It oscillates at a steady pace of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 Hz), so the chronograph’s elapsed-second hand advances in eighth-of-a-second increments – the exact measurement of brief intervals. The chronograph function enhances the Urban Speed character of the timepiece.
The “Extreme” leather wristband created by Montblanc’s Pelleteria in Florence, retains a sporty yet elegant appearance. The upper surface of the leather wristband made of grey stitched calfskin has the characteristic carbon appearance. In a long and meticulous process, the leather is textured and simultaneously impregnated with a treatment that does not only coat the surface of the wristband, but also conjoins with it and increases its structural strength. This innovative technique produces a high-performance material that is wear, water and fire-resistant.
Through its design, materials and performance, this latest addition to the TimeWalker Collection opens its “Urban Speed” design concept to a multitude of intriguing interpretations. Montblanc extends this contemporary design concept collection which combines clean lines with architectonic shapes, to the collections of writing instruments and men’s accessories translating the dynamic, progressive red design elements as distinctive signature to all products of this cross-category collection.
