Valtteri Bottas sports the ORIS Artix GT Chronograph

Inspired by its rich motorsport heritage, Oris presents the innovative Artix GT Chronograph to celebrate the independent Swiss watch brand’s association with Williams Formula 1 Team.

This timepiece boasts a distinctive dial featuring characteristic small seconds display inspired by the rev counter on a race car.

Oris has been the Williams Team’s Official Watch Partner since 2003. Today, the drivers’ racing cars, overalls and team shirts proudly carry the Oris logo – and Williams’s driver Valtteri Bottas sports the Oris Artix GT Chronograph.

Valtteri joined Williams as a test driver in 2010, having started his career in karting and then moved on to Formula Renault (where he won two races as a 17-year-old) and Formula 3. In 2012 he became Official Reserve Driver for Williams, and earned his full F1 seat in 2013.

This season, the Finnish driver has delivered a series of impressive performances in his Williams Mercedes FW 36, including four podium finishes, and has already secured his seat for the 2015 season.

ORIS Artix GT Chronograph

The Artix GT Chronograph has a number of innovative features. Most memorable is its Oris-developed retrograde small seconds aperture at 9 o’clock, which is inspired by the rev counter on a race car. As the seconds tick by, it fills with red, returning to white every 60 seconds.

It also has a bi-rotational bezel with a black ceramic minute scale and a ‘good grip’ rubber coating – another Oris innovation that allows the wearer to use the watch quickly and confidently.

The 44mm stainless steel Artix GT Chronograph has an automatic movement that powers a chronograph function and a date window at 6 o’clock.

Its two-piece dial features a tachymeter scale, and its hands and indices are filled with Super-LumiNova – perfect for reading the time at a glance, day or night.
