IWC Schaffhausen and Behbehani Group Celebrate Reopening Of IWC Boutique 360 Mall in Kuwait

Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen and the Behbehani Group celebrated the reopening of the IWC boutique in Kuwait’s 360 Mall with a select group of VIP guests and press representatives on 16 October 2014. Held at the boutique in the mall, the event also heralded the launch of IWC’s new Portofino Midsize collection in Kuwait in the presence of IWC CEO Georges Kern, Behbehani Group President Ali Morad Behbehani and IWC Brand Director Middle East & India Karoline Huber.

Strengthening their partnership with every passing year, IWC Schaffhausen and the Behbehani Group first collaborated in 1998 with a presence in Kuwait at Laila Gallery and Souk Sharq. The reopening marked another milestone that strengthened the successful relationship in addition to allowing the brand to get closer to its loyal clientele in the country.

The boutique is a warm and welcoming space that spans a total of 43 square metres. Located in the main atrium of 360 Mall, the boutique follows the spirit and style of IWC Schaffhausen boutiques worldwide and is the perfect place to discover the brand’s multifaceted universe. Clients can explore all of the brand’s iconic watch families in the comfortable lounge area at their leisure. An additional feature of the boutique is the use of special window animations that guests can enjoy when they visit.

A major highlight of the opening event was the local launch of IWC’s latest addition to its popular Portofino family, the Portofino Midsize collection, which caters to connoisseurs who prefer a slightly smaller timepiece.

With the Portofino Midsize Automatic Moon Phase (Ref. 4590) and the Portofino Midsize Automatic Day & Night (Ref. 4591), two radiant 37­millimetre timepieces available in seven different versions designed to reflect the timeless elegance of the Italian seaside resort join the Swiss company’s watch family.

The IWC Portofino Midsize Automatic (Ref. 4581) comes in a case made of 18­carat red gold set with 66 diamonds, a silver-plated dial and a lilac alligator leather strap with a pin buckle in red gold. The flagship of the Midsize collection is the Portofino Midsize Automatic Moon Phase, in which for the first time ever, the designers have depicted the entire moon phase display as a star-studded night sky, with the moon and stars appearing to float in infinite space.

For the dials of two red gold versions and one stainless steel version of the Portofino Midsize Automatic Moon Phase, gently shimmering mother-of-pearl in white set with 12 diamonds was chosen in addition to a magnificent bezel encrusted with 66 sparkling diamonds.

The white gold version with a black lacquered dial is set with a total of 174 diamonds. The new Portofino Midsize Automatic Day & Night in a stainless steel case combines the luxury of diamonds and mother-of-pearl with the nonchalance of a new and more mobile generation.
