Paying tribute to Ulysse Nardin’s seafaring past and the brand’s pioneering DNA; the Swiss watch manufacturer unveils an original Marine Chronometer series exclusive to its mono-brand boutiques.

Designed with the hard-wearing individual in mind, the new limited edition of 99 timepieces features a 45-mm “Blaktop” coated stainless-steel case. A layer made from amorphous carbon, the high-tech coating provides additional hardness for lasting durability. Furthermore, the treatment protects wearers from possible allergic reactions to metal while creating an intense blackness that is not only stunning, but also scratch-resistant. An ideal watch for the energetic, hands-on personality, the piece offers other appealing elements, such as a rubberized red crown for comfortable winding, and superluminova in anthracite for night reading.

Powering the wristwatch is the UN-118 caliber. A self-winding base caliber conceived and executed entirely in house, the caliber is a symbol of the manufacturer’s revolutionary nature. From its anchor escapement produced using DiamonSil, an alliance of diamond and silicon, to its own oscillator and patented hairspring, the UN-118 caliber is a movement of innovation.
