Swiss watch manufacturer Oris has expanded its Big Crown collection by introducing the new ProPilot Day Date model.

Inspired by the skies for over 70 years, Oris has been producing specialist aviation watches since the launch of its first Oris Big Crown in 1938. Born to satisfy the demands of fighter pilots in Normandy, this heroic timepiece has since spawned a whole collection of sky-bound watches.

Part of the new elite ProPilot range, the latest addition to the Big Crown family confirms Oris’ allegiance to the skies. New developments to its Oris Calibre 752 movement allow a bolder, enlarged calendar indicator; whilst eye-catching Super-Luminova® inlayed hands, indices and numerals perfectly contrast against a simplified black dial for rapid recognition.

Housed beneath a double-domed anti-reflecting coated sapphire crystal, this elite aviation watch offers paramount clarity in the air.

Borrowing style inspiration from the powerful turbine jets under a pilots command, the Big Crown ProPilot Day Date’s striking bezel features a coin edged top ring, case back and crown reminiscent of an airplane’s formidable engines.

Calibre 752, base SW 220-1

Beating inside, the Calibre 752 (base SW 220-1) is visible through the mineral glass case-back. This 26 jewel self-winding mechanical movement offers a power reserve of 38 hours.

Dressed in a resilient stainless-steel casing, this serious timepiece has been aesthetically balanced to ensure it not only aids its pilot within the cockpit but is also a stylish accompaniment on land.
