Eberhard & Co. Contograf
In 2014, the traditional Swiss watch brand Eberhard & Co is presenting a timepiece as a tribute to a historic chronograph timepiece – Contograf – launched during 1960s.
The new Eberhard & Co Contograf model, which comes in a 42 mm stainless steel, takes us to explore the original elements of the model introduced in 1960s.
Equipped with Calibre 8147 (base ETA 7750 13 ¼) mechanical automatic movement, this chronograph timepiece boasts a 30 minutes chronograph counter at 3’o clock, and a central hands for chronograph seconds. A date window is positioned at 6’ o clock. A small seconds dial is located at 9’o clock.
The screw in stainless steel case back is engraved “TRIBUTE TO CONTOGRAF – 1960s”. The unidirectional stainless steel bezel offers the Indications of second time zone, the hourly memo and the chronographer’s hours.
The dial, which is available in black or white versions, reminds us the details of original model. The counter of the chronograph’s minutes at 3 hours with the addition of a 3 minutes lapse counter is a feature of the 1960s to control telephone calls timing. The dial also features a tachometer scale.
