Lew & Huey made their debut into the horology industry with a concept of affordable mechanical timepieces, and introduced in 2013, their first model Riccardo Chronograph received accolades from critics and addicts alike. Their second model, Acionna , a rugged and sporty watch entertained diving enthusiasts. Now, the brand announces a new model – Spectre – dedicated to the lovers of aviation inspired timepieces.
Named after the Lockheed Martin’s gigantic AC-130 Spectre flying gunship, Spectre is a contemporary interpretation of classic pilot watches. This timepiece features a classic pilot watch design with retro/modern styling.
The Spectre is offered in two colour variations, Fireball Orange and Midnight Black, each with a padded leather strap with signed buckle.
The Spectre boasts a very large dial, a specific feature of traditional pilot watches with high legibility. Finished with a radial sunburst pattern, the dial boasts a traditional Flieger-B layout featuring minute digits around the outside and an inner ring of hour markers. The hour and minute hands are broad and bold, also with luminous paint applied. The short end of seconds hand gives a node to the AC-130 gun ship’s tail section.
Inspired by the cushion shapes of 1970’s, the solid 316L stainless steel case measures 44 mm in diameter and it is fitted with a slightly domed anti-reflective sapphire display crystal. The barrel shape and short lugs offers a comfortable wear even for smaller wrists. Finishing of the case parts are carried out in mix of polished and brushed patterns.
It houses an automatic Seiko calibre NH35 with date display. The Spectre has a screw down crown and is water resistant to 200 meters. The solid steel caseback is etched with an image of the company’s mascot, Sparky.
The Spectre will be supplied with a high quality padded leather strap which is available either in Tobacco Brown (orange dial) or Diablo Black.
