Originally launched in 2012, the Twenty-8-Eight Seconde Retrograde watch gets a makeover this year with a new classic yet cutting edge design.
The 43 mm grade 5 titanium black PVD case with imperial columns on sides and bezel plays with elegant contrasting effects thanks to the blending of noble and innovative materials. The graphic black and grey dial with raised sunburst decor provides an understated and sophisticated backdrop for the “Seconde Retrograde” complication. The clever use of shapes, colours and materials amplifies this subtle effect of depth. At six o’clock, the seconds hand with its jumping motion in a circular arc offers an unforgettable and entertaining effect.
The markers and numerals highlighted by a circle inrose gold applique play their role as a response to the openwork sword-shaped hands. Large Roman numerals, placed at the four cardinal points and discreetly interconnected by small Arabic numerals, offer a pleasant way of telling the time.
The Twenty-8-Eight Seconde Retrograde is equipped with a mechanical automatic movement that beats at 28’800 vph, and offers a power reserve of 40 hours. Finally, the crown and the fastening screws of the 18-carat rose gold case once again demonstrate the aesthetic endeavours, delicate finishes and care given to every detail by the DeWitt watchmakers.
