Founded by Chris Vail, Lew & Huey is a Philadelphia based watch brand that produces affordable and reliable automatic timepieces. Like many new generation watch brands, Lew & Huey started their operations with the help of crowd funding and social media campaigns.

Chris Vail, in a quest for affordable automatic timepieces, created the watch brand Lew & Huey in 2012. He done extensive research, and browsed in popular watch forums for a positive response in order to create good looking, reliable, yet affordable automatic timepieces.

The brand name “Lew & Huey” is inspired from the Chinese Mandarin phrase ‘luen huey’ which means reincarnation or rebirth. Lew & Huey has an interesting logo inspired by the saying ‘Every dog has his day’.

In 2013, Lew & Huey introduced its first timepiece Riccardo; an affordable automatic timepiece that houses a Seagull ST1940 Automatic Chronograph movement and offers excellent features that a high end chronograph timepiece can provide.

This model, priced under $600, was launched through KickStarter crowd funding campaign and all timepieces in the inaugural edition of Riccardo Chronograph are now completely sold out. The Riccardo Chronograph was the Watchuseek.com members’ choice for the title of Affordable Watch of 2013.
