German watch brand ARCHIMEDE unveils SportTaucher K, professional diver’s timepiece with a water resistance up to 300 meters. Its brushed 40,5mm diver case is manufactured by ICKLER / Germany.

This professional grade timepiece is also helpful to determine the cardinal directions. The watch is equipped with the reliable and robust Swiss made automatic movement Sellita SW 200, which is covered by the solid screw down case back.

With the ARCHIMEDE SportTaucher K (compass) it is possible to determine the directions north and south in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. The unidirectional rotating bezel displays cardinal directions with 360 degrees.

To determine the directions north and south please follow these instructions:

For the Northern Hemisphere

• Set your watch to local time.
• Place your watch on a plain, horizontal surface.
• Turn the watch so that the hour hand points towards the sun.
• Turn the bezel, so that the ‘S’ is placed midway between the hour hand and twelve o’clock.
• ‘S‘ indicates south (more or less).

For the Southern hemisphere

• Set your watch to local time.
• Place your watch on a plain, horizontal surface.
• Turn the watch so that twelve o’clock points to the sun.
• Turn the bezel, so that the triangle / luminous dot (‘N‘) is midway between the hour hand and twelve o’clock.
• The triangle / luminous dot (‘N‘) indicates north (more or less).

For further orientation, the directions of certain degrees (0-360) can be identified on the bezel. The wider angle between the hour hand and twelve o’clock should be used for measurements before 6 am and after 6 pm.

The measurement needs to be adjusted to allow for winter/summer time changes. In Germany, for instance, one hour should be deducted during summer (from March to October). Alternatively, the one o‘clock position can be used instead of twelve o’clock.

The ARCHIMEDE SportTaucher K is available with shark leather and rubber strap. Stainless steel and Milanaise bracelets are also available.

Two dial colors are offered: Black and White. The black dial is available with white or orange details.
