F.P. JOURNE “ÉLÉGANTE” – The First Ladies Watch Collection by F. P. Journe Manufacture

Always ahead of his time, conciliating tradition, innovation and modern technology, F.P. Journehas developed a revolutionary horological concept for his first ladies collection. It was designed and conceived exclusively for women, with extremely precise technical specifications to offer this watch autonomy of 8 to 10 years when worn and up to 18 years in standby mode.

It took 8 years of research for F.P. Journe to develop this innovative movement that combines the comfort of use and the performances of an electro-mechanical watch with feminity, elegance, and precision. The “élégante” measures time impeccably, allowing it to be stopped and started again. This is the dream of all women and of all watchmakers as well.

All the mechanical elements of the “élégante” movement are manufactured by F.P. Journe, based on the brand’s own criteria of excellence in state-of-the-art haute horology. The electronic components were developed by a Swiss engineer and were made in Switzerland according to exclusive and exacting standards, with a microprocessor specifically created for the watch. The concept of this electro-mechanical watch features a mechanical motion detector visible on the dial at 5 o’clock.

When the watch is motionless, it stops after about 30 minutes. In standby mode, the microprocessor continues to keep time, while the mechanical parts – gears, rotors and hands – stop moving in order to save energy. When the “élégante” is again worn, it automatically sets itself to the current time, taking the shortest path – either clockwise or counter clockwise.

The novel luminescent dial of the “élégante” in its Titanium version recalls the shimmering surface of white mother-of-pearl. It offers maximum legibility in the dark, and at night the hands count off the hours, as in a shadow theatre. As a finishing touch to his first ladies collection, F.P. Journehas chosen a flat Tortue case, whose design is trademarked ®.

The case of the “élégante” is available in Titanium, with 6 coloured rubber partitions and a matching rubber strap: white, rose, light blue, midnight blue, chocolate, and khaki green. Its ergonomic shape perfectly embraces the wrist. The 18 ct. red gold version comes with a chocolate strap; the Platinum PT 950 version with a dark blue strap. A jewellery version of the “élégante” is available, with a diamond-set bezel and a dial that can be set with precious stones upon request.

If electronics had existed in the 18th century, they would have been used by master horologists for marine chronometry, to achieve maximum precision during ocean navigation, while offering a sophisticated construction and luxurious design. F.P. Journe produces haute horology movements; each watch is fitted with a sapphire back that reveals its magnificent movement. Faithful to the specifications of its haute horology production, F.P. Journe reserves a special treatment for the “élégante”s movement, with an outstanding decor that may be admired through the sapphire case back.

The exceptional horological savoir-faire that characterises all F.P. Journe watches, and his exclusive mode of assembly, are both present in the “élégante”. The basic conception of the electronic components is very important, which is why F.P. Journe made it a point to develop an efficient movement that consumes less energy – with its inherent ecological benefits. The integrated circuit of the “élégante” – in a sense the watch’s brain – incorporates high-performance electronic components. 10 years of use if worn, and up to 18 years in standby mode. In an ultimate feminine touch, a heart adorns the back of the movement, showing the location of the microprocessor that symbolises the heart of the watch.

The flat Tortue case and rubber bracelet fit all wrists with sensuality and perfect ergonomic design. For the dial, true to his philosophy, F.P. Journe emphasizes legibility. Based on the principle of cloisonné enamel, the case of the “élégante” is decorated with rubber partitions.

Zelos Abyss

After the successful launch of 2 timepieces – the Helmsman and Chroma – Singapore based micro watch brand Zelos announces its third project: Abyss, a professional grade dive watch made with marine grade bronze. Built to withstand extreme pressures up to 3000 meters, Abyss takes its design inspiration from its first model, Helmsman.

Bronze has been closely associated with ocean world since ancient times because of its corrosion resistance. Like the first model, the Zelos Abyss will be come with a fine bronze case, yet designed to with stand extreme pressure.

An oxide layer, called a patina, forms a protective skin over time to protect the metal. This patina individualizes each Abyss, creating completely unique pieces. The chamfered edges of the case will be finely polished to perfection and the rest of the case is brushed to provide a contrast.

Zelos Abyss diving watch 3000 meters

The sapphire crystal mounted to protect the face of the Abyss measures 7mm thick. It is double domed in shape to reduce distortion when viewed at an angle. Inner anti reflective coatings also prevent any unwanted reflections and improves legibility. It is equipped with 120 click, unidirectional bezel and Helium Escape Valve to provide functionality for saturation divers. As with the Helmsman, an internal bezel is also added to provide additional timing functionality if required, without any risk of the bezel turning unintentionally.

Zelos Abyss diving watch bronze case

Maintaining a water resistance of up to 3000m requires a complex balance of thick metal casings and fine gaskets sealing every possible point of leakage. Each of the crowns has 5 gaskets to ensure a waterproof seal, while a double O-ring system seals the hefty 4mm thick stainless steel screw-down caseback.

The Zelos Abyss will be powered with the automatic Miyota 9015 movement, a work horse designed to perform precisely and reliably. A total of 500 pieces of the Abyss will be produced and each piece will be individually numbered.

Zelos Abyss diving watch with 3000 meters water resistance

The Zelos Abyss will be available in Blue, Green, Brown, Black and DLC bezel with Black dial versions. The CUSN8 Bronze case measures 43mm in diameter and 18mm thickness. 51.5mm lug to lug length makes it extremely wearable.

The Zelos Abyss crowd funding project is currently online on Kickstarter. Pre-order prices start from US$ 490/390 Euros. Delivery is scheduled for May 2015.

Memorigin ‘The Time Machine’ Tourbillon Watch, Designed by Mark Lui

The designer – Mark Lui has coordinated with Memorigin for launching a timepiece. He aimed to design a modern tourbillon watch, while embracing a classic appearance.

Through collaborating with Memorigin, Mark has been inspired by the brand philosophy of the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern cogitation. Especially, it is a big challenge to let the complicated mechanical movement to achieve the accuracy.

Memorigin ‘The Time Machine’ Tourbillon Watch, Designed by Mark Lui

With the combination of the above ideas, the concept of “steampunk” came across in his mind, where it was related to the industrial revolution of steamed mechanics dated back to the 19th Century. Through the design, Mark is hoping not only to present the timekeeping function, but it also be served as an art piece for users to appreciate its design.

Mark Lui has designed this tourbillon watch with both modern and classic design, combining with a rough feeling to produce a very special tourbillon that’s different from the ones in the market. There are 4 circular windows on the watch surface as one of the major breakthrough. Each of them is of different height giving us different visual delights at different perspectives.

The 4 circular windows symbolize factory smokestacks. Looking in the user’s perspective, the crown is also coming with a cushion to avoid any injuries during winding the watch. There are two shades for “The Time Machine”, giving us very different perceptions. The rosegold surface coupled with a dark brown alligator strap gives a retro feeling while the silver surface is coupled with a navy blue alligator strap giving simplicity and a modern style.

With Mark’s attention to every single detail, the packaging of “The Time Machine” is also very well designed with a gear shaped button that aligned with the timepiece’s design. Besides, accompanied with the delicately stitched cushion, “The Time Machine” is definitely an art piece with quality materials.

Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick Chronograph

The extraordinary ride of Maverick, a veritable Victorinox Swiss Army bestseller, continues apace. After the redesign of the three hand watch model, the Maverick Chronograph has now undergone a complete overhaul.

The Maverick’s new look is first apparent on the streamlined dial, where indexes take the place of numerals—except, for ease of reading, at 3 and 9 o’clock. Overall, the dial is brighter, due to differences in depth and a new surface treatment.

Maverick Chronograph comes in the natural tones of the Swiss countryside: black, blue, green and chocolate. The same colours are found on the unidirectional bezel and rubber strap.  Bracelet editions are also available, in choice of steel, gold PVD-treated steel or two-tone steel (steel/gold PVD).

The unidirectional bezel scale is lacquer-protected on the rubber strap and steel bracelet models. Mineral glass protects the scale on the PVD coated and bicolor models, set deep in the bezel. The new Maverick Chronograph is 43 mm and powered by a Swiss Made 5030.D Ronda quartz movement.

Victorinox Swiss Army – I.N.O.X.

Since its press launch at the Baselworld Watch Fair in March 2014, the I.N.O.X. watch has experienced a veritable success story. This runaway success is the perfect birthday gift for Victorinox, which is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year, and its watchmaking division, Victorinox Swiss Army, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The cornerstone of this success is I.N.O.X.’s unparalleled strength. Designed to withstand unusual levels of stress, it has undergone and passed with flying colours a battery of 130 ruthless tests that far exceed the normal certification standards of the Swiss watch industry. Unusual resistance tests were developed specifically for the I.N.O.X., and no fewer than 421 prototypes were sacrificed to ensure that it could achieve and surpass the desired objectives for strength and solidity.

After four years of development and testing, the final result: a Swiss Made stainless steel watch that is second to none. Unveiled at Baselworld 2014, the I.N.O.X. was commercially launched on 01 September 2014 at Victorinox Swiss Army points of sale worldwide.

INOX is a pledge of quality. In addition to standard testing, Victorinox Swiss Army has put it through an intensive battery of 130 tests to demonstrate its exceptional resistance, among them 30 exclusively designed tests to certify INOX as a timepiece “made to last”. INOX can, for example, withstand a 10-meter drop onto a concrete surface, have a 64-ton tank drive over it, and resists two hours in a washing machine as well as a sandstorm.

It can resist variations in temperature from -51° C to +71 ° C and 12G forces of acceleration and deceleration. INOX has also been subjected to attack by corrosive products such as gasoline, solvents, oils, cleaning products and insecticides.

INOX pays tribute to Victorinox history. Its name honours an early 20th century invention that did much for the development and success of the Swiss Army Knife: stainless steel. ‘Inox’ (French for ‘stainless steel’) is synonymous with material strength, durability and resistance to corrosion. For Victorinox in particular, it marks the link between knife making and watchmaking, between the historical activity of the company, which was founded in 1884, and the manufacture of its first watch in 1989. Two key dates, two different crafts, but linked by a single philosophy: respect for Swiss know-how and its peerless standards of quality.

The watch’s case has been stamped and machined in the metal, creating a protective envelope of unsurpassed strength. Designed to withstand unusual vibration, shock and temperature changes, it has been reinforced well beyond the standards of a conventional timepiece, and is guaranteed to maintain a perfect seal underwater to a depth of 200 meters.

The dial is a single sealed piece. Indexes are not applied in the usual manner but stamped. The axis and the attachment of the hands are reinforced. The horns are protected against warping and solidified by a crossbar. The crown, too, is protected, as is the crystal by the slightly elevated bezel. And it comes with an original “bumper”—a removable protector composed of silicone and nylon that matches perfectly with the crown, the case and the back, without disturbing legibility. Useful and functional, the protector gives the INOX its unique look.

Made to last, with exceptionally strong characteristics, it remains nevertheless a harmoniously designed timepiece – compact and solid yet sleek. The steel has been subtly sculpted and polished to catch the light. The 2014 collection is available with dial and strap in black, khaki green or navy blue. All versions are equipped with a Swiss made Ronda quartz movement.

Highest Quality Standards for Ultimate Functionality
Some of the I.N.O.X. tests were so insanely extreme they merit special mention. For example, an I.N.O.X. is tested to be capable of resisting:

  • 8 tons compression under a hydraulic press; I.N.O.X. can also resist being driven over by a truck of 25 tons or a military tank weighing up to 64 tons.
  • Temperatures shocks from -57 ° to +71 ° Celsius. This corresponds to the standard set by the US Army for the manufacture of missiles.
  • Salt spray corrosion or chemical attacks by all kinds of fuels, oils, solvents, cleaning products, insecticides… including sulfuric and nitric acid solution. Again, a standard not for watches but for the military, borrowed from the US Army.
  • A fall of 10 meters onto a smooth concrete surface. This is the equivalent of a drop from a 3-floor building, with an impact speed of 50 km / hour.
  • Exposure to a flame at a distance of 5mm for more than one minute, which corresponds to a temperature of +1,200 degrees Celsius.
  • Glacial cold. The watch will function non-stop and without complaint, even when frozen in an ice cube for 168 hours.
  • Extreme conditions at a stratospheric altitude of 21,300 meters, which is twice the height at which the airliners fly.

These crazy performances also prove useful in everyday life: I.N.O.X., for example, will emerge unscathed after two hours in a washing machine… at 90° C and with full spin cycle. Given I.N.O.X.’s extraordinary robustness, one would expect it to look like a bunker. Its elegance, however, is apparent at first glance.

The refined design of the 43 mm stainless steel case is enhanced by a skilfully polished hexagonal bezel. Available in three colours (black dial and strap, khaki green dial and strap, navy blue dial and strap), it can be further personalized with a bumper. A totally new accessory in the watchmaking world, this removable protector in silicone and nylon lets you change the watch’s look to match your mood. Office, mountain, leisure and evening, nothing beats the I.N.O.X. for versatility: it can be worn anywhere, anytime.

Awards

  • I.N.O.X. has won a number of international awards and special mentions, including: ‐ WatchPro, the watch magazine of reference in the UK, chose I.N.O.X. over Rolex Deep Sea, Omega Seamaster Diver and Cartier Calibre for their “Sports Watch of the Year” award.
  • I.N.O.X. was selected by the American monthly Mens journal as one of the 53 most innovative products of the year.
  • The http://www.victorinoxwatches.com micro site, specifically designed to highlight the many qualities of the I.N.O.X. watch, including through videos, was designated “Website of the Day” by Design Licks, a platform showcasing the world’s most creative and inspiring websites.

Victorinox Swiss Army Night Vision 2014 Edition

The new Night Vision has all the features that made this Victorinox Swiss Army innovation such a bestselling success. This year, the iconic model with multi-function lighting module built into its case is offered with two new bracelets: “Black Ice” PVD steel or a black leather strap. The sporty, classic and versatile character of this precision measuring instrument is more expressive than ever.

Equipped with a stainless steel bracelet with “Black Ice” PVD, the new model sports the same features that have made the Night Vision a success since it first appeared in 2003. Victorinox Swiss Army is also launching a second edition, with a 42mm stainless steel case and anthracite gray dial, but accompanied by a black leather strap.

The Night Vision line illustrates a core value of Victorinox Swiss Army: functionality. The fact that it has for many years been among the brand’s best sellers is not just a coincidence. It illustrates perfectly the philosophy of the family business, combining the benefits of state-of-the-art Swiss watchmaking, the useful functions of a professional tool, and attractive contemporary design.

The evocation of Victorinox Swiss Army’s original métier underlines the link between the famous multi-function Swiss Army knife and a watch offering six of its own useful lighting functions, all operated using a push button located between 8 and 9 o’clock on the case.

For example, the wearer can illuminate the dial for optimal time reading, turn on a continuous beam and even launch an SOS rescue signal, in Morse code, that can be seen clearly a kilometer away. This avant-garde lighting feature uses low-energy consumption LED technology that is perfectly integrated into the sleek design of the dial and bracelet.

Developed and manufactured in Switzerland, the electronic module of the Night Vision is an exclusive Victorinox Swiss Army creation.

HUBLOT BIG BANG UNICO World Poker Tour Limited Edition

By signing with the World Poker Tour in Las Vegas, Swiss watch maker Hublot has become the first luxury brand to invest in the international professional poker circuit as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. To seal the presence of the Swiss watchmaking brand in this new field, a Big Bang World Poker Tour®, with a design heavily inspired by the game, was presented at an event organised in Las Vegas and attended by CEO of Hublot Ricardo Guadalupe, as well as the greatest players on the circuit.

Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, chose to announce the partnership at the WPT® Five Diamond World Poker Classic, WPT Alpha8™ Las Vegas, organised and televised (FOX Sports) from 15th to 20th December at the Bellagio, the legendary Las Vegas hotel and capital of international poker. The event was attended by the greatest professional and amateur players on the poker circuit.

Hublot was the first luxury brand to enter professional football in 2006, with the immense marketing and commercial success that we expect of the brand. It was also the first luxury brand to enter American basketball in 2011. That same year, Ferrari chose Hublot to be its Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. In 2014, in addition to poker, Hublot was also the first luxury brand to enter cricket, one of the world’s most popular sports, particularly widespread in India, Australia, the Middle East and in all Commonwealth countries, which offers Hublot great additional geographic coverage on four continents.

To mark the announcement of Hublot’s entry into the world of poker, the brand has developed a limited-edition BIG BANG UNICO World Poker Tour with a design that suitably encapsulates the poker world.

The watch chosen to entice the players was the iconic Big Bang, equipped with the in-house UNICO Manufacture Chronograph, unique in the industry for its column wheel and double clutch visible on the dial side.

The new detail – which gives this watch its resolutely “poker” character – is a bezel made of 18K King Gold or steel that features an interplay of two different treatments, polishing and micro-blasting, which in particular showcase a heart, spade, club and diamond, the distinctive and universal symbols of card players.

The UNICO Chrono movement is revealed thanks to a skeleton dial featuring the famous voluminous indexes and Arabic numerals, hollowed out and filled with red SuperLuminova ™.

Two counters encircled by polished silver-plated rings, the first displaying the minutes at 3 o’clock and the second showing the small seconds at 9 o’clock, along with the date window located at 3 o’clock, complete the overall effect.

The sapphire crystal of the case-back also bears the exclusive symbol of the World Poker Tour® in transfer form.

This 45.5 mm diameter Big Bang Unico World Poker Tour® is available in two versions: a limited edition of only 100 numbered pieces in 18K King Gold (Hublot 18K gold with an extra 5% platinum which gives it an even more intense red colour, thereby making it even more precious), and a more impact resistant steel edition, of 200 numbered pieces.

Each watch is equipped with the famous, exclusive Easy One Click system which allows the wearer to switch easily between the three straps that come with the watch. All are made of alligator stitched onto rubber, and come in black, red and above all gold or silver treated.

Victorinox Swiss Army Maverick Sport 2014 Edition

Maverick Sport has a very strong and sporty character, built on subtle contrasts. In 2014, the collection is enriched with eight new models: four three handed watches and four chronographs, all with original detailing on their dials. The three colours, red, blue and yellow, are a nod to the flag of the town of Ibach, where Victorinox is headquartered. The same signature is on the complementary strap in NATO fabric that supplements the original black one. All are powered by Swiss Made Ronda quartz movements.

Maverick Sport is built for action. The design is very distinctive: whether the classic three handed watch or the chronograph, it immediately asserts its sporty character through an aesthetically pleasing play of contrasts. The polished and brushed 43 mm stainless steel case with polished angles, common to both models, is demonstratively robust, a quality further enhanced by the graphic crown guard. The dial in silver or black and surrounded by a black unidirectional rotating bezel, with oversized hour numbers for easier reading, is equally uncompromising.

Every detail on the dial bears the signature of the house: the flange displays military time, and the blue hour hand is generously covered with luminescent material, as is the minute hand. catching red adorns the second hand, the Victorinox shield at 12 o’clock, and the hands on the two chronograph counters. The date window – at 3’o clock on the watch versions and 6’o clock on the chronograph – is highlighted with a thin yellow line.

Red, blue and yellow are the three colours on the flag of the municipality of Ibach, the company was founded in 1884 and where Victorinox is still headquartered today. The tricolour signature is repeated the NATO fabric strap; though, of course, both watch and chronograph models are also available with a metal bracelet in brushed steel.

Inside beat Swiss-Made quartz movements: Ronda 715 for the watch, Ronda 5030D for the chronograph.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance 30mm, Quartz

With this newest addition to the Alliance collection, Victorinox Swiss Army proves once again that refinement and elegance combine perfectly with functionality and reliability. Powered by Swiss-Made quartz movements, the three new models for 2014 in powdery pastel colours subtly combine contrasting materials: steel for the case, mother of pearl for the dials, and delicate leather for the straps.

With their slender 30 mm stainless steel cases, the new feminine Alliance editions are sleek-lined exemplars of simplicity and delicacy.

Alliance is elegance personified, highlighted by a series of exquisite details and contrasting materials. The polished steel of the case plays against the iridescence of the mother of pearl dial and the softness of the brushed leather strap, which is particularly pleasant to the touch. The combination is discreet and refined, as are the colours choices: blue, gray and pink. The powdery pastel tones of the dials and straps create a harmonious monochromatic whole that is undeniably feminine.

Alliance remains faithful to the codes that have made the collection such a success for the last three years. The polished, pyramid-shaped indexes play with the light, as do the finely faceted central hands. At 3 and 9 o’clock, the indexes give way to two Arabic numerals. The date window appears at 6 o’clock. Finally, still on the dial, an iconic feature – the famous Swiss cross emblem at noon – completes the alluring design.

Inside, at the Alliance’s heart, beats the Swiss Made Ronda 705 quartz movement.

Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum

To be unveiled at SIHH 2015, the Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum is the  latest addition to a Montblanc’s watch collection that was actually introduced in 2014 to pay tribute to the legendary Montblanc Meisterstück Fountain Pen launched in 1924.

From 2015 onwards this collection will assume its future position among the Montblanc watch families as the Heritage Spirit Collection.

Embodying all the codes of fine watchmaking down to the last and smallest detail it bears the signature of traditional craftsmanship, timeless design and flawless functionality. Based on refined design codes, the collection includes timepieces with elegant, clear dials and refined cases expressing the DNA of fine watchmaking. Up to the grand complication, each model in the Montblanc Heritage Spirit collection makes its own statement, all timepieces being meticulously crafted.

Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum watch

The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum interprets one of the most contemporary and useful complications -the world time function – in a new, innovative way. The earth is anchored at the core of this complication, that is named Orbis Terrarum, the Latin term for “globe”, “earth”, and “world”. This timepiece adopts a universal approach, telling the time in 24 time-zones all over the world, thanks to a manufacture complication developed in-house by the Montblanc master watchmakers.

The inspiration for this complication is the “Montres à eclipses”- watches that had multiple layers of dials that could change their functionality or aesthetics – were some of the most fascinating complications at the beginning of the 20th century. Always reaching towards the pinnacle of its craft, Montblanc has developed a strong expertise for working on complications by using multiple layers – two examples manifesting this expertise being the Metamorphosis II launched in 2014 or the Rieussec Rising Hours from 2012.

The complication of the Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum is simple to read and easy to use, displaying the time in different parts of the world in a practical and intuitive way. The dial is constructed in a multi-layer way. At its centre, the main sapphire crystal dial displays the continents as viewed from the North Pole. The continents are cut out from the rest of the disc that displays the oceans in a light blue colour.

Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum watch steel version

Under the main dial is a disc showing day and night, which rotates with the movement of the 24-hour mechanism. On the outside of the dial, there is a disc with the names of 24 cities, encircled by their respective time zones.

The disc with the cities can rotate separately from the 24 hours disc with the aid of the pusher, located at 8 o’clock. To adjust the time the desired “home” city only needs to be positioned with its corresponding time at 6 o’clock. The “local time” is displayed by the central hour and minute hands, which are adjusted with the winding crown.

When travelling, the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum’s worldtime complication indicates what time it is at the destination. The hour and minute hands to give the new “local time” just need to be adjusted, while the time in the country of origin remains displayed at 6 o’clock.

Due to the innovative multi-layer dial construction, the times of all 24 time-zones can be indicated. A day/night disc shows at a glance where it is day or night on the planet. The rotation of this disc changes the colours of the continents as seen on the dial, alternately from light (day) to dark (night). This innovative functional principle is rare to find in fine watchmaking.

The watch is driven by a self-winding mechanical movement, calibre MB29.20, beating at the frequency of 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour (4 hertz) with the exclusive complication developed in-house by Montblanc.

Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum watch red gold version

The Montblanc Heritage Spirit “Orbis Terrarum” features a 41mm case with refined and straight lines, a narrow convexly round bezel, antireflective cambered sapphire crystal, vertically descending flanks with horizontal satin finishing that beautifully contrast with the polished case, finely arcing horns, polished faceted hands in the classical dauphine shape, a crown with the Montblanc emblem in raised relief against a sand-blasted background, and a large-scale black alligator wristband with a triple folding clasp, for maximum comfort.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance Mechanical 2014 Edition

Victorinox Swiss Army Alliance is an elegant and sober watch boasting the best elements of Swiss-Made mechanical watchmaking. This year’s model is equipped with a self-winding ETA 2824 movement, famous for its robustness and reliability. An important detail marks the evolution of the 2014 edition: as a signature, the second hand now sports the famous Victorinox red, as does the “Automatic” inscription on the dial. The Alliance is available with two dials, dark gray or eggshell, and two bracelets, polished and satined steel or ecologically tanned black leather.

The lines are classic and clean. Alliance goes back to the basics and focuses on its primary function: to display the time as accurately and clearly as possible. To perform this task, the watch is equipped with an ETA 2824 mechanical automatic movement, among the most robust and reliable in Swiss watchmaking.

To accompany this high-quality engine, Victorinox Swiss Army has selected only the finest components. The stainless steel case is a generous 40 mm in diameter. On its dial, every detail has been designed to ensure at-a-glance legibility. The polished, pyramid-shaped indexes subtly catch and reflect the light. They alternate with Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. As on all the brand’s watches, the Swiss cross emblem stands proudly at 12 o’clock.

The sword-shaped and faceted hour and minute hands are topped with a second hand whose counterweight suggests the iconic shape of the Swiss Army Knife. It bears the famous Victorinox red, as does the “Automatic” inscription at 6 o’clock, just above the date window. Another brand signature — military time — is discreetly embossed at the edge of the indexes, so as not to disturb the aesthetic harmony of the whole.

Alliance is available with two dial options: dark gray or eggshell. The tones are highlighted by a delicately brushed sunray finish. Two bracelet choices are offered: polished and satined steel or an ecologically tanned black leather strap, both equipped with folding clasp.

Victorinox Swiss Army Alpnach Mechanical 2014 Edition

Victorinox Swiss Army is issuing three new three-hand models of its popular Alpnach collection. Masculine, sporty and stylish, they remain true to the DNA of the famous collection, which takes its name from the Swiss Army’s Alpine air base — home of the legendary Cougar AS 532 helicopter.

Sleek, sporting and masculine, the three new Alpnach Mechanical models are based on the legendary Cougar AS 532 helicopters of the Swiss Army, which are stationed at the base in Alpnach, in the heart of Switzerland. Each honours the key values that have forged the reputation of a brand founded in 1884: Swiss quality, functionality, innovation and design.

Synonymous with power and character, Alpnach watches are designed for extreme situations. The dials resemble instrumentation panels. In flight, a pilot must be able to obtain important information in a single glance. Dials, counters and displays must be perfectly legible.

The simple and uncluttered dial is divided into three concentric circles: hour markers on the outside of the flange, then the minute digits, and finally an indication of military time. The rotating bezel is engraved with a countdown. The luminescent hour and minute hands stand out from the other markings and are effortlessly easy to read. The second hand is embellished with a green or red colored tip. On the see-through case back is another eye-catching detail: the oscillating weight with four blades, just like the AS 532 Cougar helicopter.

The first model features Victorinox’s iconic red on the flange, the tip of the second hand and the leather and ballistic nylon strap. The other two models are all-black, with a ballistic nylon and leather strap or a black PVD steel bracelet.

The new editions in the collection have the same aesthetics as the original Alpnach: very graphic design; steel case with black PVD coating; all-black or charcoal grayand black dial for easy reading; and a Swiss Made mechanical movement with automatic winding.

The engine of this machine is an automatic winding ETA 2824 movement, housed inside a 44mm stainless steel case. The black PVD coating enhances its technical and masculine appearance. The strong character and design of these uniquely constructed watches are sure to appeal to everyone who knows Victorinox.

Konstantin Chaykin Decalogue Luah Shana (with engraving)

On the eve of Hanukkah, Konstantin Chaykin presents the updated Decalogue Luah Shana watch. The new unusual design created in a single copy.

Inspired by works of art of the Jewish people the author has updated their incredible handmade engraving. The majestic columns placed on the face of the watch, which offers a beautiful view of the central part of the watch, which includes: an indicator of hours and minutes, moon phases and lunar calendar.

The Decalogue Luah Shana Watch is Hebrew in both design and in how time is indicated. The hands move from right to left, a reminder of how time was indicated on the famous tower clock on the Old Town Hall in the Josefov, the old Jewish quarter of Prague. The Decalogue Luah Shana also uses Hebrew letters instead of numerals on the dial, which are read right to left as well.

Konstantin Chaykin Decalogue Luah Shana watch

The artists who designed the Decalogue Luah Shana Watch turned to classic Hebrew artwork and design elements for inspiration. There are columns on the dial which represent the famous columns of the First Temple, the Temple of Solomon. These majestic columns are described in the Tanakh by Melachem.

King Solomon commanded to build two copper columns placed on either side of the main entrance of the Temple. Both were 9 meters tall: the right (south) column was named Jachin (‘He confirms’ in ancient Hebrew) and the left one (north side) was named Boaz (“The strength is in Him”). The columns were cast by master Hiram from Tyre. Hebrew letters are used to mark the hours on the Decalogue Watch and the hours progress from right to left as is standard for the Hebrew system.

Each letter has a numerical value ranging from 1 to 12 according to gematria from the Kabbalah. Therefore, the hands on the Decalogue Watch also move ‘anti-clockwise’ as it were. This function is called the reverse system of hand movement. Konstantin invented this function for the Decalogue and Decalogue Rega Watches and has patented it.

Konstantin Chaykin Decalogue Luah Shana

The large lunar phase indicator is a stylized replica of the stone tablets on which the Ten Commandments, the Decalogue, were carved in ancient Aramaic by God and given to Moses on Mt. Sinai on the fiftieth day after the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. There is an indicator of lunar days underneath. The lunar phase indicator is vital for in this watch: it allows the owner to calculate Jewish holidays. This indicator makes it easy to track the beginning and end of lunar months.

The proprietary K 01-0 caliber is visible through the sapphire glass on the back of the case. The Luah Shana Watch is a fine example of elegant watchmaking art: the bridges are decorated with ‘cotes de Geneve’, gold chatons support the jewels, and the facings on barrel wheel are perfectly polished. The Hebrew nature of the watch is reiterated by the Star of David engraved on the barrel wheel and decorated with blue enamel.

Chopard classic Imperiale 36mm Jade

Swiss luxury watch maker Chopard unveils the Imperiale Jade on the occasion of Chinese New Year. The Imperiale watch, a Chopard classic, in this new avatar appears adorned with jade, an exceptional stone symbolising virtue and purity.

When the codes of contemporary elegance echo the grandeur of the Roman Empire, a true classic is clearly in the making. Born in the 1990s and entirely revisited in 2010, the Imperiale exudes an appeal stemming first and foremost from its harmonious proportions and refined details. Endowed with a powerful and symbolic character, it asserts itself as the natural choice for women impelled by an all-conquering spirit.

Chopard classic Imperiale 36mm Jade watch

The serene strength of its details distils a wealth of characteristics that are all nods to the heyday of the imperial age, from the Roman numerals that punctuate the dial to the hands whose curves echo the tapered daggers used by sovereigns during battle.

This new model sees the appearance of jade, the ultimate symbol of imperial dynasties. By definition extremely fragile and complex to work with, a vividly coloured jade of exceptional quality enhances the dial with its gleaming radiance.

A crown delicately curved like a lotus flower and set with diamonds is fitted on the case middle with its pure, sleek sides designed to give the model a lighter touch and a more luminous glow. The shape of the lugs echoes the tradition of ancient columns that are famed for their perfectly balanced proportions.

Girard-Perregaux 1966, 41mm, Blue Hour

A worthy heir of the understated and refined Girard-Perregaux style, the 1966 collection embodies the brand’s expertise in the design of classic watches. This collection is part of the tradition of Girard-Perregaux, a combination of elegance and watchmaking mastery.

Girard-Perregaux 1966, 41mm, Pink Gold with blue dial

Rado HyperChrome Ceramic Touch Dual Timer

Loaded with most innovative features, the Rado HyperChrome Ceramic Touch Dual Timer showcases the Swiss watch brand’s pioneering spirit, as well as its material mastery and technological innovation. This quartz watch, equipped with the Ceramic touch technology is available in five new models.

With a main dial displaying the time where you are now and the small dial at 6 o’clock showing the second time zone, this is a watch made for globetrotters.

The main time display is set by activating the watch using sensors at the top of the case, the small dial using the ones at the bottom. By sliding your finger along the left hand side of the case you can make hours fly by and on the right hand side the minutes.

The minutes on the two time zones are synchronised to guarantee accuracy and both minute hands will move during time setting on the main dial.

As seasoned travellers know well, 15 minutes is the smallest difference between world time zones and the quartz movement in this new Rado watch makes changing this interval super simple as well as ultra quick.

Technology has made possible what cannot be achieved with a mechanical watch: a 15 minute leap forward or back across time zones.

Operating Instructions
Rado HyperChrome Ceramic Touch Dual Timer
This watch has no crown. It is activated and the time is set by touch only. The high-tech ceramic case has 6 sensors and the two sides of the case are the active touch zones. This watch has a 2nd Time Zone function, which is synchronised with the main one. The first time zone is displayed on the main dial. The second time zone is displayed on the small dial at 6 o’clock. Activation is always a two-step process to avoid any unwanted changes in time setting.

To set the main time zone (main dial)

  • 1. Touch the case at 10 o’clock until the minute hand on the main dial moves slightly. Immediately slide your finger along the right hand side of the case from top to bottom. The minute hand moves slightly again and the watch emits a small beep. Now the watch is activated and the time zone on the main dial can be set.
  • 2. To set the hours slide your finger along the left hand side of the case (clockwise = + 1 hour, anti-clockwise = – 1 hour). To set the minutes slide your finger along the right hand side of the case (clockwise = + 1 minute, anti-clockwise = – 1 minute) In order to keep both time zones in synch, the minute hand on both dials will move during the setting process on the main dial.
  • 3. To confirm the time setting and deactivate the watch touch the case at 10 o’clock or at 8 o’clock for 2 seconds. The watch emits two small beeps. Setting mode is now deactivated and the time cannot be changed accidentally.

To set the second time zone (small dial)

  • 1. Touch the case at 8 o’clock, the minute hand on the small dial moves slightly. Immediately slide your finger along the right hand side of the case from top to bottom. The minute hand moves slightly again and the watch emits a small beep. Now the watch is activated and the time zone on the small dial can be set.
  • 2. To set the hours slide your finger along the left hand side of the case (clockwise = + 1 hour, anti-clockwise = – 1 hour) To set the quarter hours (minimum possible time zone difference) slide your finger along the right hand side of the case (clockwise = + ¼ hour, anti-clockwise = – ¼ hour).
  • 3. To confirm the time setting and deactivate the watch touch the case at 8 o’clock or at 10 o’clock for 2 seconds. The watch will emit two small beeps. Setting mode is now deactivated and the time cannot be changed accidentally.

Time zone swap

  • 1. Touch the case either at 8 o’clock (or 10 o’clock), the minute hand on the small (or main) dial moves slightly. Immediately slide your finger along the right hand side of the case from top to bottom. The same minute hand moves slightly again and the watch emits a small beep. Now the watch is activated.
  • 2. Now you can swap the time zone from the small dial to the main dial and vice versa. To do this, touch the case simultaneously at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock for 2 seconds. The hands on both dials will move quickly and the time set on each dial will move to the other one.
  • 3. To confirm the setting and deactivate the watch touch the case either at 8 o’clock (or 10 o’clock) for 2 seconds. The watch will emit two small beeps. Setting mode is now deactivated and the time cannot be changed accidentally.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon

The Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon celebrates the 60th anniversary of Prestigious Swiss watch brand Corum, which, since founding in 1955, has distinguished itself as the creator of outstanding timepieces shaped by unorthodox ideas.

To be unveiled in 2015 on 60th anniversary of Corum, this exceptional mechanical tourbillon timepiece re-imagines the iconic haute horlogerie complication in a profound yet practical manner.

Designed in the nineteenth century as a mechanism to improve timekeeping, the tourbillon is today the embodiment of Swiss micro-mechanical ingenuity, and arguably the most prestigious complication in watchmaking. But the tourbillon is so precious that it is a treasure only admired on occasion. Corum conceived the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon to turn conventional wisdom on its head.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon watch

With a tourbillon carriage mounted on enlarged ceramic ball bearings for resilience, the movement has the bridge and base plate machined from stainless steel, instead of the typical, softer brass. Only with the stiffness and strength of steel were the movement’s designers able to achieve the remarkable visual effect of the tourbillon seemingly floating as it makes one revolution a minute.

With the base plate and bridge terminating at four and eight o’clock on both sides of the movement, the tourbillon appears to be suspended in mid-air. But it is actually tethered to the movement by the two slender steel arms that are part of the bridge.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon

Finished with a fine straight graining, the base plate is visible through the smoked sapphire dial with a red gold galvanized Corum logo at nine o’clock. Just above it is the fan-shaped retrograde date display.

Centered on a snail shaped cam that controls the retrograde function, the date hand crisply jumps from one day to the next, until it reaches the 31st. Then it jumps straight back to 1, marking the start of a new month. From the rear, the view through the sapphire display back is equally panoramic. Instead of a conventional full rotor that would impede the view of the tourbillon, the caliber CO 016 is equipped with a micro-rotor decorated with the Corum logo in 18k red gold.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon

Just 17 mm in diameter, the micro-rotor has a winding efficiency of two, meaning it can wind the mainspring to its full autonomy of 72 hours – a significant technical achievement since it powers not just the movement but also the rotation of the tourbillon cage.

The beauty of the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon can also be found in the tiniest details, like the poising screws of the balance wheel, a traditional feature of fine watchmaking used to optimize weight distribution around its rim. Or in the facetted, skeletonized and gilded hour and minute hands. Intricate yet functional, the red gold hands are elegantly legible against the smoked grey sapphire dial.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon

But the essential detail that embodies the history of the Admiral’s Cup is the chapter ring with its 12 nautical pennants. Positioned as the hour markers, the pennants are a subtle reminder of the nautical heritage of the Admiral’s Cup. Echoing the 12 nautical pennants is the 12-sided bezel of the red gold case.

Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 Flying Tourbillon

With a 42 mm diameter and just 13 mm high, the case is constructed to be elegant yet robust, with a water resistance of 50 meters.

DEWITT Glorious Knight HMS & Glorious Knight Chronograph with Napoléon’s DNA

A historic sale of the private collection of HRH Prince Louis II of Monaco, the great grandfather of HRH Prince Albert of Monaco, was held in Fontainebleau on 16th November this year.

The items presented for auction had all been owned by the Emperor Napoleon I, whose direct descendants include Jérôme de Witt, founder of the DeWitt watch company in Geneva.

At the sale, Viviane de Witt, CEO of the DeWitt company, acquired two lots containing strands of the Emperor’s hair, with the intention of enclosing them in DeWitt watches so that admirers of the Emperor can carry his DNA on their wrists.

Glorious Knight Chronograph with Napoléon’s DNA

The hairs were certified on 25 November at the Meyrin Geneva Manufacture by the President of the Judicial Officers of Geneva, Maître Gérard Reymond. Half a millimetre of hair has been ‘attached’ to an effigy of the Emperor under the glass of the watch face, covered in a special varnish and sealed in a furnace.

Glorious Knight HMS with Napoléon’s DNA

In total the brand plans to produce around 400 watches from its two steel collections Glorious Knight and Academia Steel, with prices starting at 10,700 Swiss francs (including VAT). The timepieces are already available at the Meyrin Geneva Manufacture.

Frederique Constant Runabout Chronograph Automatic Collection 2014 (FC-393RM5B4 & FC-393RM5B6)

The Runabout Chronograph Automatic Collection celebrates Frederique Constant’s continuing partnership with the Riva Historical Society, the organisation founded in 1998 with the aim of locating and aiding in the conservation and restoration of the magnificent Riva boats.

The 2014 limited edition Runabout Chronograph Automatic Collection features two models. Only 2,888 of each will be produced. Both are powered by the ultra-precise FC-393 automatic chronograph movement, offering 28,800 beats per hour, 25 jewels and an appreciated 46-hour power reserve. Functions include hours, minutes, seconds, date and a mechanical chronograph. The date window is located at the 3 o’clock position. This model is water resistant to 50 metres.

With a case diameter of 42mm, the dial is protected by a diamond-hard convex sapphire crystal, and both models feature the exceptionally popular see-through case back, allowing owners to view the internal workings of this mechanical marvel. As an acknowledgement of the work they do and the passion with which they do it, the Riva Historical Society flag is etched into the case back glass.

Runabout Chronograph FC-393RM5B4

The FC-393RM5B4 comes with a striking rose gold plated case, with a wonderfully contrasting silver dial featuring a guilloche decoration in the centre. The hour and minute hands are luminous white. The Arabic numerals are finished in rose gold and hand-applied. A luxurious croco-calf leather strap in dark brown with a folding buckle completes the stylish and timeless look of this model.

Runabout Chronograph FC-393RM5B6

The FC-393RM5B6 features a gleaming, hand polished stainless steel case. The lustrous silver dial has the guilloche decoration at the centre, while the hand-applied indexes are pearl black Arabic numerals. This model is presented with a deep blue crococalf strap with white stitching and a folding buckle. The combination of colours, textures and styles all combine to give an appearance that is unquestionably modern yet undeniably timeless.

Each of the new Runabout Chronograph Automatics will be delivered in a specially designed gift box, complete with a delightful miniature replica of a wooden Runabout.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten

Swiss luxury watch atelier Romain Gauthier celebrates its 10th anniversary by launching a brand new timepiece, HMS Ten. This exceptional wristwatch features off-centre hours and minutes; small seconds; partially open dial; hand-finished, in-house movement visible through display back; and ergonomic flat case back crown.

The dial of HMS Ten is a harmonious composition of circles and arcs. Inside the chapter ring, there is the smoothly finished, off-centre hours-minutes subdial bearing the R. Gauthier logo and flanked either side by a Clous de Paris.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten watch anthracite dial

On the lower portion of the subdial, sectorial seconds allows visual access to the movement below, with the balance wheel and distinctive gear driving the seconds on show. The three parts of the dial are fixed invisibly from beneath, lending clarity and classicism to the displays.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten watch red gold version

The graceful 41mm diameter case is distinguished by pure, clean, unbroken lines around its full perimeter. However, it is the absence of a normal crown that reveals just how remarkable the movement is.

Placing the crown flat on the caseback increases winding efficiency because energy does not need to be transmitted through 90°. It also reduces wear and stress on components. The large diameter of the crown also enables the watch to be easily wound, even while on the wrist.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten watch case back

While the dial side treats the observer to a partial view of the movement – which was entirely conceived, developed, designed, produced, assembled and regulated by Manufacture Romain Gauthier – it is through the display back that this in-house calibre is fully showcased, with virtually every component bearing Roman Gauthier’s distinctive touch.

The Vallée de Joux style finger bridges catch both the light and the eye with their seductive polished curves. The bespoke gear wheels feature circular arms providing both elegance and strength; the polished screw heads bear a unique S-slot, enabling more torque to be applied and aesthetic.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten platinum watch with blue dial

With its distinctive curved arms and calibrated eccentric weights, the balance wheel has been designed and manufactured by Romain Gauthier. The regulator even features a high-efficiency triangular pallet lever, another Romain Gauthier invention.

The large movement bridge at the top has a cut-out revealing some of the mainspring barrel and ratchet click. The cut-out features four highly polished, sharp internal bevelled angles – this anglage is the hallmark of superlative hand finishing since machines are not yet capable of milling and polishing sharp internal angles.

Romain Gauthier HMS Ten

Impressively, all components are designed, developed and manufacture by Romain Gauthier except for the mainspring, balance spring and jewels.

HMS Ten is available in three limited editions of 10 pieces each: platinum case/blue dial, red gold case/champagne dial and white gold case/anthracite dial.

IWC Schaffhausen Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic (Ref. IW511101 & IW511102)

Prestigious Swiss watch manufacture IWC Schaffhausen welcomes a new member to its classic Portofino line, which offers elegant mechanical timepieces featuring minimalist design and discreet elegance. The new model – Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic – celebrates the art of understatement with its own distinctive charm and style.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic watch

The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic (Ref. IW511101/IW511102) dispenses with any form of embellishment and was designed, purely and simply, to show the time of day.

It also radiates composure and an undiluted aesthetic. It has a traditional, arched-edge front glass, which not only makes the 43.5-millimetre diameter of this harmonious model seem smaller than it actually is, but also gives the watch a classic, balanced appearance.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic Red Gold watch Ref. IW511101

In order to make the overall impression as discreet as possible, it has omitted seconds hand and even the power reserve display has been moved to the back of the watch, where it can be seen through the sapphire-glass back.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic IW511102

The IWC hand-wound 59060 calibre that ticks inside offers precision timekeeping and autonomy up to 192 hours or 8 full days when fully wound. Two large bridges conceal the rear of the movement almost entirely, leaving just the balance on view. This contemporary watch design guarantees an impressive level of robustness and reliability.

The upper bridge serves as a bearing for the barrel, the differential and the winding mechanism, while the lower bridge fulfils the same function for the power reserve display and conceals the train-wheel bridge below. All bridges are exquisitely decorated with Geneva stripes.

The movement also features an indexless balance, which has four golden weight screws on the balance rim to facilitate precision adjustment. As is standard for most modern watch movements, it oscillates at a frequency of 4 hertz, or 28,800 beats per hour. Like the Breguet spring bent into shape in using traditional watchmaking techniques, this also helps to make the watch extremely precise.

The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic in red gold (Ref. IW511101) sports a silver plated dial and gold-plated hands and indices as well as a dark brown leather strap.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic Steel watch IW511102

The stainless-steel version (Ref. IW511102) is available with a silver-plated dial, rhodium- plated hands and indices and a black leather strap. The high-quality straps are made exclusively for IWC Schaffhausen by renowned Italian shoe manufacturer Santoni, now run by the second generation of the family in the form of Giuseppe Santoni.

IWC Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic IW511102

The Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic is available in an unlimited edition exclusively at selected IWC boutiques.

DAVOSA Argonautic Lumis C

Swiss watch maker DAVOSA expands its popular dive watch line Argonautic Lumis Range by unveiling new version: Argonautic Lumis C. This diver’s watch with Swiss quality movement is available immediately from specialist retailers priced at 748 Euros.

The Argonautic, by Swiss watchmaker Davosa, enjoys an excellent reputation among dive watch aficionados. Professional features including a helium valve and water resistance to 300 metres have helped make it a market institution. And all these ingenious functions are offered at an extremely attractive price.

Sports watches should also be aesthetically pleasing and convince optically. As a result, DAVOSA has equipped the Argonautic Lumis with some additional highlights, starting with the shades of the self illuminating tritium gas tubes. This means that they require no external light source to cast their simultaneously fascinating and possibly life-saving glow.

To protect the tubes against impact as effectively as possible, they are located at a second level beneath the actual dial. The essential is then illuminated through millimetre-precise slots.

Tubes in shades of light blue, orange and red are newcomers to the range. The scaling of the unidirectional rotating bezel complements this colour scheme.

A further innovation is the steel mesh strap. This offers an astonishing level of wearing comfort and optimum tensile strength.

Combined with the luminous digits, it ensures that the new Argonautic Lumis models really turn heads -both day and night.

Glycine Airman Seven (Ref. 3919)

Traditional Swiss watch maker GLYCINE unveils its latest timepiece AIRMAN SEVEN, an exceptional automatic wristwatch designed for frequent travellers. This new model has its origins back in the early 1990s when the traditional Biel-based establishment brought out its then revolutionary Airman 7 with three dials displaying the time simultaneously and made a big entrance on the wristwatch market.

In introducing the impressive timepiece, boasting no less than three automatic movements, GLYCINE had not only redesigned the arrangement of several time zones but had confidently ushered in the age of large watches worn on the wrist.

The Glycine watchmakers have now succeeded in building a watch for pilots and frequent travellers which again has a simultaneous display of three time zones. No longer is the Glycine creation based on three separate automatic movements, however, but for the first time on just one single movement which controls the three time zones simultaneously by means of an ingenious complication.

The advantage over conventional GMT watches is obvious: the face is divided into one main dial with the main time zone (12-hour clock) and two smaller integrated dials with a 24-hour time zone each. The human eye can take in the three time zones at one glance and the display is much easier for pilots and frequent travellers to read. The beautifully crafted dial with its quality finish is inspired by the sleek structure of the turbojet engine and comes in dark blue and anthracite.

Attention has also been paid to practicality and Glycine has come up with a really user-friendly feature by having two 24-hour time zones which can be operated directly can be operated directly by simply pressing the main crown at 02h00. (1st GMT zone) or the button at 04h00. (2nd GMT zone).

The AIRMAN SEVEN comes in an elegant, polished stainless steel case with an ample diameter of  46 mm, combining innovation and elegance in their most beautiful form.
