Alessandro Baldieri, the accomplished Italian multi-talented designer is the brain behind the creation of watch brands – Alessandro Baldieri, ITAnano and Trifoglio Italia. After the successful first collection of leather bags under the brand Trifoglio, the creative genius introduces the fashionable and yet functional Trifoglio diver-inspired range of timepieces.

Together with his partner in design Jessie Yeo, this duo has designed Trifoglio’s latest range of military diver-inspired diver’s watch aptly christened “Sette Mari” – Italian for “Seven Seas”. As with all good designers, ample thought was put into the elements that went into the watch. Take for instance the simplistic dial design so that vision is not impaired by unwanted markings on the dial during time spent underwater. The large handset also makes this dial a lot easier to read especially with the hands applied with Superluminova.

The designers also wanted a watch that will give the wearer a “tougher, brute” feel and so an adaptation of the “Special Operations Diver Badge” is incorporated onto the dial thus giving it an overall “professional” feel. Measuring in at 49mm, this monster may look menacing at first glance but the case which is made up of Marine Grade Aluminum weighs in only at 105grams.

Other feature includes a rotational bezel, K1 toughened mineral crystal and an automatic movement IT3HD by Officine Baldieri. Each watch is adorned with a 24mm hypo-allergenic green silicon diver’s strap with suede effect and beige and green stitching.

There are a number of dial and hands combinations; tobacco/orange, graphite/green, sandblast/green and blue/white. The Trifoglio Sette Mari is presented in a camouflage green neoprene duffle-style diver’s bag that can be re-used for different applications.

Asked for the reason behind the design of this “duffle-bag”, co-founder Mr Baldieri and Ms Yeo replied that a lot of effort had been put into the consideration of the environment and they did not want to use a wooden box for their products as this meant killing trees which is something that the pair of designers feel very strongly about. The Sette Mari is a limited edition of 300 pieces.

Trifoglio Italia Sette Venti Collection

The latest addition to the Trifoglio Italia collection is Sette Venti – Italian for Seven Winds. Equipped with a Seagull AAA – 2881 Automatic movement, this limited edition timepiece comes in a sandblasted 316 L case measuring 45mm.
