In 2010, independent luxury Swiss watch brand VICENTERRA introduced GMT-3, the world’s first wristwatch with a tri-dimensional mini globe in a void space showing the sunlit face of the earth on the average time base, at local time. This world premier timepiece was an instant hit and now the brand is presenting its successor, the VICENTERRA GMT 3 VOLUME 2
The new model, GMT 3 – VOLUME 2 is an exceptional complication timepiece which proudly displays a three dimensional globe at 5’o clock. The globe measuring 6.50 mm is a true poetic representation of earth and makes one turn in every 24 hours.
The four part split dial with matt black background boasts numerous functions such as hours, minutes and seconds in its main dial, the second time zone/GMT in a big sub dial at 7’o clock, the day and night indication just above 12’o clock, and retrograde date indication at 2’o clock. The exceptionally crafted GMT 3 – VOLUME 2 offers a visual feast with its numerous indications, the globe, the sun and stars.
The VICENTERRA GMT 3 – VOLUME 2 watch houses the state of the art ETA 2892, 21 jewels movement which is again incorporated with a 21 jewels module specially made for VICENTERRA making the complete mechanism with 42 jewels. It offers 42 hours of power reserve. All these horology marvels are incorporated into a curvaceous case made of 316L steel.
With the crown at 3 o’ clock, the owner can set the hours, minutes, seconds and date. This crown is also used for winding in manual winding model.
The day and night indication may be synchronised with hand settings. The pusher at 4’o clock is for setting the three dimensional globe. Pusher at 8’o clock is for setting GMT.
