Swiss luxury watchmaker RJ-Romain Jerome unveils new diamond studded variations of its masterpiece creations like Moon Invader, Moon Dust Red Mood Chrono and Titanic-DNA Steampunk.
The Moon Invader 40 models, the latest additions to the Moon-DNA collection featuring a smaller case and including elements of the Apollo 11 spacecraft, have been bejewelled.
Whether in steel or black PVD, each bezel is set with respectively 70 diamonds (0.71cts) or black sapphires (0.89cts) and sublimates the “cushion” shape of the watch.
The functional ball-and-socket joints on the four “corners” of this rounded square are shaped like the pivoting “feet” of the Lunar Exploration Module.
These extremely sophisticated components mounted on axles anchored in the case, hold the spring-bars of the fabric strap and enable the watch to adapt to all wrist sizes. The diamonds on the bezel shine among the Moon Invaders and offer a whole new vision of this collection with its futuristic design.
The Moon Dust Red Mood Chrono already lighting up the Moon-DNA collection with its stellar brilliance from the red gold, is now bringing a new sparkle echoing that of the stars, thanks to the paws adorned with 164 diamonds (1.14 cts).
This timepiece carries all the distinctive RJ-Romain Jerome design codes : the lunar grey dial as a hand-sculpted evocation of the Moon, the Moon dust and the four-blade “seconds hand” evoking satellite solar panels.
Red gold for the case, carbon fibres on the bezel and diamonds embellishing the lugs : the materials are harmoniously combined on this model with its literally cosmic radiance.
In the Titanic-DNA collection, 3.27 cts of diamonds brighten-up the bezels of the Steampunk models. Devoid of any dial enabling to appreciate in full the rigorous lines and sturdy build of a mechanism, the Steampunk collection command respect.
These timepieces, whether an automatic self-winding movement or a chronograph, faithfully reflect the Steampunk aesthetic, a mix of retro futuristic and authentic industrial codes : raw index, a mobile propeller driven by the oscillating weight, 4 screw-down pistons symbolising the brand’s famous “X” motif and the bezel held firmly in place by four steel, black PVD-coated or red gold paws depending on the version.
Creating a powerful contrast with the raw, virile finishes of the Steampunk collection, the 286 precious stones lend a whole new dimension to this imposing 50 mm case.
All the stones used by RJ-Romain Jerome comply with the Kimberley Process certification scheme. They are set by hand according to traditional watch industry gem-setting techniques.
