Van Cleef & Arpels supports the Only Watch 2013 charity event in Monaco by donating a unique and  exceptional timepiece,  Lady Arpels Une journée à Monaco (Lady Arpels a day in Monaco).

The fifth edition of “Only Watch”, the prestigious auction charity auction will be held at the Hotel Hermitage Monaco on 28 Sep 13, under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. To support research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, funds raised will be donated to the Monegasque Association against Myopathies, organizer of the event with the Antiquorum auction house and the Monaco Yacht Show.

After « Une journée à Paris »(“A Day in Paris”), a tribute to monuments Paris, Van Cleef & Arpels   makes a new Poetic ™ complication that fits well in creative philosophy of Van Cleef & Arpels.  Inspired from the vibrant life of Monaco, the Lady Arpels a day in Monaco unique edition  is dressed in blue and white with white gold, diamonds and precious stones, range both celestial and aquatic feature of the Cote d’Azur.

On a bright line, is drawn on the face of a turquoise panoramic view of Monaco. In turn, will reveal the famous Rock dominated by the Prince’s Palace, the vegetation represented by two palm trees, but also the iconic Fontvieille harbor, or a ship sailing away.

The sea is omnipresent, has existed through the waves Bounding engraved on the cap shell and the back of the case. In the center of the dial, a rotating disc made of lapis lazuli recalls intense blue of the Mediterranean, which reflects over hours, the sun or the moon.

With the Lady Arpels Une journée à Monaco Unique Piece for Only Watch 2013, Van Cleef & Arpels also makes a subtle tribute to the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, very involved in the research and protection of marine species, and the special relationship that the Principality has maintained always with the sea.
