The new Emile Chouriet ‘Minute Repeater’ watch carries the spirit of the 18th century in a unique watch decorated with enamel dial.

Born in the workshops of the Manufacture of Emile Chouriet, this minute repeater in rose gold is decorated with enamel dial. This highly symbolic painting shows François Dagobert Depéry, an eighteenth century Geneva watchmaker and ancestor of the family of the brand’s founder. François Dagobert Depéry was a contemporary of Emile Chouriet, the Geneva enamel artist.

For this unique watch, designers and watchmakers have chosen to represent this painting as a will to commemorate the past and the transmission of watchmaking values. This follows the leitmotif of Manufacture, which aims to show the spirit of Swiss watchmaking, especially Geneva watchmaking, and to perpetuate techniques developed by watchmaking artists.

This highly symbolic painting shows François Dagobert Depéry with an eagle drinking from a chalice. This eagle and chalice symbolize the strength taken from communion. They also illustrate a soul rising high above terrestrial concerns.

To carry out this work Emile Chouriet brand is surrounded by craftsman and renowned experts. Mr Jean-Pierre Hagmann, the last sculptor of minute repetition cases, fully hand sculpted the three rose gold boxes of this limited edition. His know-how is extremely rare. He is one of the last craftsmen to practice with such expertise.

The participation of these exceptional craftsmen was an honor for Montres Chouriet. The charisma of this watch was inspired by the DNA of the brand, flared horns and generous reflects its identity. On the other hand, roundness and curves of case are adjusted to enter in resonance with the sounds produced by the hammers and ensure accuracy and amplification of sound.
