The Infantry collection by Victorinox Swiss Army boasts military inspiration but has many other advantages to highlight. Demonstrating the line’s maturity, the 2013 collection as a whole remains classic and timeless. The lines of the different watch models have evolved towards greater fluidity. Every element contributes to the maximum readability of the dial. Two new bracelets – an organic black leather strap and a Milanese-style bracelet of stainless steel mesh – complete the set. The result is a fully rejuvenated new look.

In the past, watches for soldiers had to have very specific qualities. They had to display a robustness, optimal ergonomics and perfect legibility, even in the toughest conditions. Faithful to their original spirit, the models of the 2013 Infantry collection have inherited these advantages, plus many others. Without betraying its roots, the collection has evolved and adapted to the stylistic trends of today.

We can see this change at first glance. Compared to previous versions, the curve of the box is smoother, more fluid. From the side, the silhouette is reminiscent of the Victorinox Officer’s knife. On the dial everything has been done to facilitate reading. A new font, inspired by old typewriters, gives the watch a vintage touch. The hands have been slightly elongated. Numbers, indexes and hands are, as before, covered with luminescent material.

The models are available with two bracelet choices: an organic black leather strap or – in a first for Victorinox Swiss Army – a stainless-steel Milanese-type mesh bracelet. Easy-to-adjust, flexible, thin and elegant, the steel bracelet transforms the timepiece, giving it a more urban, jewelry and feminine look. All these elements contribute to the rejuvenation of the Infantry family, whose aim is to offer watch enthusiasts a choice of classic products at affordable prices.

At the entry level, Victorinox offers a three hands version simply called Infantry, with a date window and Ronda 715 quartz movement. It has a small additional detail on its dial: military hours discreetly printed above the classic numerals. For those who prefer fine mechanics, there is the Infantry Mechanical, with a self-winding ETA 2824-2 movement. Finally, for fans of sports watches, there is the Infantry Chronograph, outfitted with a Ronda 5030-D quartz movement. It displays three counters on the dial, as well as traditional pushbuttons to the right of the case middle on each side of the protected crown.

All three models are waterproof to 100 meters and have a 40 mm case–signs that they cater to everyone, both men and women, and are true companions for everyday life. Swiss made.
