The GRIEB & BENZINGER Blue Ocean is a unique wristwatch with a 1920s mono-pusher chronograph movement.
It features a solid platinum case with 47 mm diameter and domed anti-reflective sapphire sight glass and flat sapphire glass at the bottom. The solid platinum push-button crown is guilloched.
The hand-guilloched bezel and the sapphire crystal back are screwed. The hand-skeletonized dial with overlapping indicators is made of sterling silver and finished with the legendary Breguet Frost finish.
The GRIEB & BENZINGER Blue Ocean is powered by a professionally restored historic monopusher calibre from around 1926. This mechanical manual winding movement has 17 rubies. The compensation balance with screws and blued Breguet hairspring oscillates at 18,000 A/h.
The movement was completely dismantled into its individual parts, restored and refined. The unmistakable blue base plate was meticulously skeletonized by hand to the maximum extent possible, guilloched and then finished with the typical blue-platinum coating exclusively developed by GRIEB & BENZINGER.
The visible barrel has been skeletonized by hand. Each bridge is hand guilloched, rhodium plated and rose gold plated. The balance cock was hand-engraved and rhodium-plated and rose gold-plated. Even the wheels were guilloched, and the heads of all 34 screws were polished by hand and classically blued with an open flame.
The GRIEB & BENZINGER Blue Ocean watch is fitted with a dark blue alligator strap with platinum buckle.
