The new Giga Tourbillon Round Skeleton from Franck Muller is the latest addition to the brand’s Giga Tourbillon series.
Fitted with a tourbillon measuring 20 mm in diameter and occupying half the watch, this timepiece enjoys a classic and refined design thanks to its curved silhouette and skeletonised details. The movement has been reversed, the bridges placed on the dial side, the hour-setting and winding section located on the case-back side and the hours hand positioned on top of the minutes hand.
To ensure a 10-day power reserve, displayed at midday (traditional winding by the crown), the Giga Tourbillon has been equipped with four barrels instead of the usual one or two that characterize traditional tourbillons.
These barrels, with a diameter of 16 mm, are 4 mm wider than traditional ones, providing the almost constant force needed to operate the Giga Tourbillon. Devoid of its dial and in a round version, the Giga Tourbillon Round Skeleton unveils a unique design that is both modest and impressive.
The Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon Round Skeleton watch was unveiled during the 20th edition of the World Presentation of Haute Horlogerie event.
