Ellicott Mach One SkyMaster – New Models (2012)
This year, Swiss luxury watch brand Ellicott enhances its Mach One SkyMaster line with new models in carbon dials featuring a choice of colours from white to pink to red to orange. Initially used in the aeronautics and space industry, notably for its high mechanical resistance and lightweight properties, the composite materials integrating carbon fibre are taking over the watchmaking sector with the Mach One collection by Ellicott.
Exclusively developed by Ellicott in 2009, in tribute to the aeronautics with the launch of the Mach One Airforce, the carbon “stealth” concept comes into the conception of the said hybrid case of the Mach One collection, which is realised out of blocks of monolithic carbon epoxy and steel.
The Mach One SkyMaster watch comprises in its design a high tech material which gives it an unparalleled lightness and comfort. Ergonomic and practical, its case of “cushion” shape has a satin-finished bezel in black steel DLC (Diamond Like Carbon). The dial in carbon fibre displays the hour, the minute, the centre second and a date at 6 o’clock.
With its amazingly lightweight case, whose carbon epoxy frame weights a mere 7 grams, the Mach One SkyMaster immediately displays its exceptional character thanks to its constituent materials, of course, as well as to its movement and instantly memorable design.
