IWC Schaffhausen has launched two new references of the IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month watch. These new models in platinum and 18k rose gold respectively replace the references IW376101 and IW376102 released in 2009.
In 1884, IWC secured the rights to the Pallweber system, developed by Joseph Pallweber, a Salzburg watchmaker, and started producing the first “digital” watches in IWC’s history.
Instead of traditional display with hands, these timepieces indicate the time with numerals in separate windows. Only the seconds continued to be indicated by a hand. In 2009, IWC presented the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month with digital displays for both the date and, for the first time, even the month in large numerals. This year, the brand presents two new references: IW376106 and IW376107.
In addition to Perpetual Calendar, this high-complication watch offers chronograph with flyback function. Inside beats, the IWC-manufactured 89800 calibre. Consists of 474 individual parts, this self-winding mechanical movement offers a power reserve of 68 hours. This complex horological mechanism is visible through the sapphire crystal case-back.
The tonneau-shaped case measures 44 x 52.8 mm. The new references feature silver-plated dials just like their ancestors launched in 2009.
The Platinum Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month (IW376106) is fitted with a black alligator leather strap and its rose gold (IW376107) counterpart comes with a dark brown alligator leather strap.
