This self-winding mechanical diving chronograph from the Brightz Ananta series commemorates the 130th anniversary of Seiko’s founding. It is equipped with the newly developed mechanical movement 8R39 and features a black lacquered dial made by Mr. Ichifune Tamura, a lacquer artist from Kanazawa.

Specially created for diving watches, Caliber 8R39 is based on Seiko’s mechanical chronograph movement 8R28, which uses a vertical clutch and pillar wheel structure.

The self-winding Seiko 8R39 movement is equipped with a hairspring made of the proprietary material “SPRON610”, which has excellent impact and magnetic resistances. In addition, the company has made design changes to improve the robustness of the movement, such as changing the thickness of parts and the fixing method to three clamp methods.

Seiko Brightz Ananta SAEK015 chronograph features a 44mm diameter case made of stainless steel. Its elegant and distinctive case design is inspired by the shape of Katana, the Japanese sword. The case-back is engraved with the letters “Limited Edition” and the limited edition serial number. Limited to 700 pieces, this automatic chronograph comes with a special box with the 130th anniversary logo.

The watch has a water resistance of 200 meters.

The suggested retail price of SAEK015 in Japan is 367,500 yen (350,000 yen excluding tax).
