Milus Herios TriRetrograde Classic

Swiss watch brand Milus presents a new and resolutely classical version of the Herios TriRetrograde, one of their most accomplished timepieces. The Herios TriRetrograde watch is the only square model in the Milus collection. This shaped piece, thus far produced in versions that are feminine, sporting or even featuring dials artistically decorated in cloisonné enamel, is presented in a classic and entirely reworked version.

The original square form has been reworked to give it a gentleness that is reflected in its many curves, both on the flanks as well as in its profile. To accomplish this work, the designer has gone back to the aesthetics of the 17th century arabesque style from which he has re-transcribed the fineness and lightness, above all on the level of the added horns, very much a watchmaker’s detail. These horns thus appear to integrate into the case only to come out again, like an extension, on the level of the crown protection, giving the overall item a harmonious and delicate cohesion. The glass with double radius of curvature, assembled at the same level as the bezel, gives the whole item the roundness of a runner long polished by the sea, a roundness that is also found on the back cover of the case for improved comfort in contact with the wrist.

Milus Herios TriRetrograde Classic model is available in two dial variations. The first has a galvanic black decor stamped with a sun motif centred on the little seconds hand situated at 6 o’clock. Adorned with an hour circle made of silver plated indexes in appliques, it creates an impression of discrete classicism and elegance.

The second appears less formal with its more vintage accents thanks to a white lacquered decor adorned with blue Arabic numerals, its peripheral area is stamped with pulsating motifs. Both are animated with three retrograde seconds hands, now symbolic of the Milus brand and its very playful way of measuring time.

These hands are controlled by the exclusive Milus 3838 mechanism and by a special-execution, Swiss-made movement. Visible through the transparent back cover of the case, this mechanical calibre with automatic winding features an oscillating skeleton weight in the form of the Milus logo with the symbol of the brand engraved in its centre. Water-resistant to 3 atm, the Herios TriRetrograde Classic watch is available in steel with a black or brown alligator strap.
