Limited to 300 pieces, this Spring Drive timepiece (SBGA055) was launched in 2010 to mark 50th anniversary of Grand Seiko luxury watch brand.

Grand Seiko SBGA055 has a 41mm diameter stainless steel case. To mark the 50th anniversary of the brand, its white dial spotlights an 18K yellow gold GS lion emblem and the “50th Anniversary” inscription near the date window positioned at 3H. The blue steel second hand emphasizes the characteristic smooth movement of the sweep hand movement. A small hand near the GS logo indicates power reserve.

The Grand Seiko 50th Anniversary Spring Drive Limited Model in Steel (reference SBGA055) houses the high-precision Caliber 9R15 movement.

The time accuracy of the Spring Drive “Caliber 9R65” is ± 15 seconds per month where as the Caliber 9R15 comes with an enhanced precision rating of ± 10 seconds per month. Equipped with a high-performance crystal oscillator specially selected according to the characteristics of the spring drive, high time accuracy has been achieved by making adjustments for each model. The 18K yellow gold “lion emblem” is also applied to the rotating weight of the movement.

Provided with both automatic and manual winding options, the Grand Seiko Caliber 9R15 has a power reserve of 72 hours. The back case is engraved with the letters “50th Anniversary 1960-2010” and a serial number proving the limited number. The sapphire crystal exhibition back offers the view of the 9R15 Spring drive movement.
