Grand Seiko 50th Anniversary Mechanical Limited Model, References SBGR065 and SBGR075

Released in October 2010 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Grand Seiko, this timepiece houses the Caliber 9S65, a brand new self-winding mechanical movement. It comes with a 37mm diameter stainless steel case.

Two versions are available: SBGR065 (with silver dial) and SBGR075 (with blue dial). At 3 o’clock on the dial, the GS “Lion” emblem made of 18K yellow gold and “50th Anniversary” inscription are applied to commemorate the 50th anniversary.

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case-back, the rotating weight of the movement is also decorated with the “lion emblem” made of 18K yellow gold to give it an appearance suitable for a limited edition model. The steel case-back ring is engraved with “50th Anniversary 1960-2010” inscription and a serial number proving the limited number.

Launched in March 2010, the mechanical caliber 9S65 incorporates the SPRON610 hairspring, which offers superior impact resistance and magnetic resistance. This movement has a power reserve of 72 hours (about 3 days). Furthermore, from the movements that have passed the “Grand Seiko Standards Certification”, the company has selected and installed better movements that meet the standard of average daily difference of -1 second to +5 seconds (static accuracy).

Spotlighting a silver color dial, Grand Seiko SBGR065 is a limited edition of 500 pieces. Grand Seiko SBGR075 is limited to 300 pieces and it features the emblematic blue color dial.
