Grand Seiko 50th Anniversary High-Beat Mechanical Limited Model, Reference SBGH015

Introduced in 2010, the Grand Seiko 50th anniversary High-Beat model (SBGH015) comes with a high-precision 10-hz movement that exceeds the 1970 “special standard”.

In 1960, it was born as a high-precision mechanical watch equivalent to the Swiss chronometer excellent standard as a “domestic luxury product that challenges Swiss luxury products”. Grand Seiko eventually established its own stricter standard certification, and in 1970, the “Grand Seiko Special” was launched. The 50th anniversary model (reference SBGH015) is a unique variant endowed with the new standard certification, which is a further improvement of the GS special standard.

Its white dial highlights the 18K yellow gold GS lion emblem and the 50th anniversary inscription near the date window at 3 o’clock. The GS logo, brand name and the letters “SPECIAL” and HI-BEAT 36000 are placed above the 6 o’clock marker. The centre seconds hand is in blue color.

The anniversary High-Beat model houses the Caliber 9S85, which beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour and provides an exceptional accuracy (-2 seconds to +4 seconds per day).
