This is the first model by F.P. Journe-Invenit et Fecit to be set with diamonds. This watch also carries the Octa 1300-3 caliber, a new movement which offers an automatic winding system in adequacy with the less mobile users.
In 2001, when the creative watchmaker presented the Octa line – a collection of mechanical wristwatch chronometers with automatic winding systems offering more than 5 days of power reserve (over 120 hours), all of which have the same case thickness regardless of the complication.
A worthy heir to the Octa collection, the OCTA DIVINE in 36 mm diameter is the first model by F.P. Journe-Invenit et Fecit – to be set with diamonds and feature centre hour and minute hands. Nonetheless, the recognisable F.P. Journe aesthetic elegance has been retained, with the seconds circle in the lower right-hand section, and the hour and minute circles screwed to the dial, a brand specific feature that has been duly patented.
This watch indicates the power-reserve and displays the moon phases thanks to a metallic sapphire disc which moves one notch forward when the date changes. The bezel is set with VVS1 brilliant-cut diamonds.
The OCTA DIVINE is available in 3 different versions, the first with case and dial set with 2,56 carats of round diamonds, on alligator strap; the second with case and bracelet partially set with 6.72 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, on platinum or 18K red gold bracelet; and the third with case bracelet pave-set with 11.02 of brilliant-cut diamonds, on platinum or 18K red gold bracelet, deployant clasp also diamond set.
The new Octa caliber (1300-3) uses the slightest movement to automatically wind the watch. With talent, the watchmaker turns the problem around, and creates a new rotor that winds in only one direction with a ball bearing system autoblocant. The ceramic balls allow the rotor to move in one direction and block it in the other. In this way, every infinitesimal movement is maximally exploited for an optimized winding of the watch. The new caliber retains the characteristics of the classic Octa with: a five day power reserve (120H) and a variable inertia balance wheel for an optimum yield that offers each model of the Octa line an irreproachable stability.
Also in accordance to his clients’ observations, François Paul Journe takes advantage of this new caliber to offer two new models with central hands.
