Eterna launches the Heritage Collection designed to house contemporary versions of many of its legendary mechanical watch models. The 2010 edition of the Heritage Collection presents Pulsometer Limited Edition 1942 and Super KonTiki Limited Edition 1973.
Pulsometer Limited Edition 1942
The Pulsometer Limited Edition 1942 features an automatic winding movement with 42 hours of power reserve, housed in a steel case 42 mm in diameter, numbered on the bottom of 1 to 1 942.
The overall appearance of Eterna’s Pulsometer Limited Edition 1942 remained the same as the historical piece, starting with the classic pulsometer-scale dial, minute and small seconds counter, now added at six o’clock. A screwed bottom and a sapphire crystal contribute to its water-proofness up to 50 meters (5 bars).
Super KonTiki Limited Edition 1973
It owes its name to the famous Kon-Tiki balsa raft on which in 1947 Thor Heyerdahl and his companions sailed from the Peruvian coast to Polynesia. On their wrist, the most solid and reliable wristwatch of their era, signed Eterna. Adopting in 1958 the name of the famous boat, this model was at the general request often revisited and improved. It is the 1973 model that inspired the Eterna Super KonTiki Limited Edition 1973, now featured in the Heritage Collection.
Made only 1,973 units, its rectangular arched case features the famous rotating bezel period with alternating numbers and indexes. The background, it bears the KonTiki medallion and its limited edition number. Waterproof up to 200 m (20 bars), it houses a self-winding movement offering 38 hours of power reserve, displaying the hour, minute, second and date. The black dial with indexes and hands coated with a luminescent material is obviously protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal treated with antireflection. A soft bracelet with diver extension and safety clasp completes the set.
