The Haute Horlogerie movements developed in the Manufacture du Sentier have long since been housed within a distinctive ellipse-shaped case fashioned from precious metals. The 2010 vintage of the Bulgari, Daniel Roth Collection features an evolved version carved in steel, Endurer Chronosprint.
This watch immediately exudes a strong personality dominated by the contours of its generously sized case in Staybrite© steel, a treatment ensuring extreme corrosion resistance and also endowed with superlative polishing qualities. Endurer Chronosprint Calibre 1306 offers a formal reinterpretation of the elliptical case characteristic of the line to which it belongs, while firmly respecting its stylistic origin. Featuring a sturdier, more rugged design, the case expresses its subtleties through softened angles and its profile reveals finely fashioned curves such as its concave bezel with six screws.
This rugged exterior protects an exclusive and unusual self-winding mechanism: a movement with a simplified chronograph function which serves to measure long times, whereas traditional chronographs are generally used to measure short times on two to three counters. The Chronosprint function indicates the hours and minutes by two hands mounted on a single arbor. One press on an ergonomically notched push-button at 7.30 positions the hands at 12 o’clock and starts the chronograph.
Calibre DR 1306 beats to the rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and drives the hour and minute hands on a slightly off-centred axis, while the large date window appears at 12 o’clock. Its patented mechanism is based on a specific construction due to the off-centred position of the hour and minute functions serving to ensure an optimal position of the Chronosprint function.
