Zitura is a Swiss luxury watch brand founded in 1952. The brand is popularly known as the Swiss Bankers Watch because it was originally presented to prominent customers of the Swiss Bank Corporation.

Conceived in 1980’s its signature ingot dial collection became a hallmark of the brand and Zitura is the only watch company in the world which use minted ingot dial. Besides watches with 24kt solid gold dial, Zitura also makes Platinum dial and diamond studded watches.

Zitura is known throughout the financial and watch world as the Swiss Bankers Watch. From its founding in 1952, Zitura designed 24K gold watches that were elegant, unique, and striking in appearance.

Originally presented to prominent customers of the Swiss Bank Corporation, which later merged into UBS Bank, Zitura evolved into a Swiss luxury brand for the European market. Through these banking channels, Switzerland, Austria, Scandinavia, Germany, and Belgium were among the first countries to begin showcasing Zitura watches.

The signature gold bar ingot dial was conceived by Zitura in the 1980s for a customer in the Middle East. Designed after the pure 24K gold bar minted by the Swiss Bank Corporation, the original gold bar ingot weighed 1g and was merely glued onto the dial.

Inspired by the beauty of the reflective ingot dial and the inherent value of gold, Zitura spent more than 20 years of research and development to produce today’s high quality dial minted in Switzerland with the latest technology. Quality and authenticity were assured when Zitura began working with Argor, the official mint of the Swiss Bank Corporation, to develop an exclusive procedure for the manufacture of pure 24K gold dials.

Pure 999.5 platinum dials soon followed and the ingot dial collection became a hallmark of the Zitura brand. Zitura maintains its leadership in design and quality of precious ingot dials and no other brand has the know-how to produce a minted ingot dial. Today, the process remains a secret held by Zitura and Argor.

Rare, lustrous and enduring, gold has a profound history in Asia. Zitura ingot dials are well suited for Asian style and values. Pure 24K gold holds a special place in Asian cultures as a symbol of purity, value, and beauty.

Singapore Airlines successfully sold Zitura watches on board since 1988. Demand for the unique and elegant watches grew rapidly and, in 1991, Hans J. Malaer, Chairman of Zitura, entered the Asian market with the stunning ingot collection. Over the years, Zitura has remained committed to improving the products and reinvested much of its profits into design and development.

Zitura is a Swiss company originally located in the cantons of Bienne and Zug and was moved to Magliaso in Southern Switzerland. The name Zitura remains synonymous with Pure Value. The meaning of Zitura derives from two expressions in Swiss dialect for time and watch, i.e. “Zyt” and “Ur”. In line with the esteemed image of the Swiss bank, Zitura is proud to offer the updated Swiss Bankers Watch, upholding the ideals of elegance, quality, and value.

High end quality watches with reasonable prices — quite a challenge already, but Zitura wanted something more, something unique, something to stand out. That is why Zitura contacted one of the five worldwide leading institutes of precious metal technology located in Switzerland and developed together with their research department a special dial. The challenge was to integrate the existing idea of a gold bar with a purity of 999.9 pure 24K along with a new and yet timeless design, that no one would be able to imitate.

It is in the foundry department of Argor-Heraeus, Switzerland, in Mendrisio near the Italian border where the story of the Zitura Gold Dial begins. First of all the solid pure gold that will be used for the dial, needs to be transformed into a preliminary form that can be processed by the mechanical department. The gold is thus melted in the furnace of a continuous casting unit, from which the gold strand is pulled over a profile mold. The result is a thick golden stripe with a shape that can be easily handled.

The Zitura ingot collection showcases watch dials minted in Switzerland of solid 24K gold 999.9 purity or platinum 999.5 purity. Each timepiece is Swiss Made and waterproof to 3 ATM with scratch resistant sapphire crystal and features an extra-flat 100% Swiss quartz movement, butterfly folding buckle, and is backed by an international warranty. The collection is presented at retail prices ranging from HKD16,500 to HKD52,500. Zitura watches are offered for sale in worldwide with emphasis on Europe, Middle East and Asia.

After more than 20 years of research and development, Zitura can now offer an exceptionally unique watch in both style and value. Zitura dials will always retain their inherent value of solid gold or platinum. The production of the dials has come a long way since the original 1g gold bar ingot face was glued on to the dial.

Today’s dial is minted under a secret process by the official Swiss Mint utilizing the latest technology. Zitura dials minted under this exclusive process feature a 7g to 10g gold ingot for ladies models and a 12g to 18g gold ingot dial for men’s models, each stamped with the mark of Argor, the official Swiss Minting Institute.

To guarantee the authenticity of Zitura watches, each dial features the Zitura logo and other proprietary information embedded in a state-of-the-art Kinegram medallion. A Kinegram is an optically variable device that moves when viewed from different angles.

Used exclusively for high security applications, such as financial instruments, official government documents, and gold and platinum bars, Kinegrams are a successful deterrent to counterfeiting. Zitura is the only watch manufacturer worldwide authorised to use this patented Kinegram technology on a watch dial.

Zitura watches remain counterfeit proof and the customer can feel secure in the value of a genuine Zitura watch. To copy such a dial not only requires substantial investment but also the secret know-how granted exclusively to Zitura to produce the unique minted ingot dial.

Each dial is minted with an individual serial number to guarantee authenticity and value. Together with the Certificate issued by the official Swiss Minting Institute Argor, each Kinegram certifies the purity, origin, and the exact weight of the solid 24K gold or 999.5 platinum ingot dial.

Zitura watches are Swiss Made with workshops located in the South of Switzerland near Bellinzona and the company has offices in Magliaso, Switzerland.
