Bovet Fleurier Grand Complications 44mm Minute Repeater with Miniature Painting White Tiger or Leopard

Miniature painting on mother-of-pearl calls for exceptionally sharp eyes and dextrous hands. To complete a single dial, the painter can spend up to 70 hours, peering attentively through the binocular magnifier.

Fleurier Minute Repeater with Miniature painting “ White tiger ”

In this piece the artist’s talent brings to life a majestic white tiger. Each colour is carefully prepared. The base shade is applied and the other colours are progressively blended in to achieve the desired gradation and nuances.

Many extremely fine additional layers are then applied, yet the completed painting is hardly five hundredths of a millimetre thick. This exceptional dial decorates a minute-repeater, one of the most fascinating complications. It takes outstanding skills to assemble and adjust some 300 parts into a timepiece that unfailingly chimes the hours, quarters and minutes on demand.
