Casio G-Shock “Three-Eye” GA-100/100A

Casio has released the latest addition to its G-Shock family of shock resistant watches: the GA-100/100A lineup. These five watches are boldly designed with a large face that features the popular three-eye design — three dials on the top half of the face — along with a traditional main analog display.

The functionality and design of Casio’s G-Shock series of watches have evolved over the years while always maintaining the core concept of superior shock resistance. The DW-5900, released in 1990, was the first G-Shock to feature the three-dial face, which was nicknamed “three eyes.”

This groundbreaking design included three LCD dials that graphically indicate the flow of time alongside a main LCD time display. Since then, the three-dial face design has gained popularity through the digital models of G-Shock watches such as the DW-6900 and GW-500.

Having graced the faces of hugely popular models in the past, the legacy of the three-eye face design is now carried on to the digital-analog models of the new GA-100/100A lineup in a bold, three-dimensional, large-face design.

These new G-Shock watches boast a variety of functions including a 1/1000-second stopwatch, a velocity indicator, and magnetic resistance compliant with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Sure and solid operation is enhanced by over-sized buttons with anti-slip finish, and a large face with easy-to-read displays for viewing the results of important measurements.

The functionality of these new basic models is apparent on the design of the watch face. In addition to the main hour and minute hands, the watches display setting functions and speeds on LCDs at the 2 o’clock and 10 o’clock positions and on the analog dial with a small hand at the 12 o’clock position.

The dynamic symmetric design of the GA-100/100A models is enhanced by two square LCDs at the 4 o’clock and 8 o’clock positions that display measured times, a calendar, world time and other functions.

Beveled-edge dials and 12 raised hour markers provide a three-dimensional depth for bold styling, while rivet-like protrusions on the center right and left of the bezel as well as on the watchband embody G-Shock toughness.

The full lineup includes three black GA-100 models and two GA-100A models in yellow or white.
