Victorinox Swiss Army New AirBoss Collection

The new AirBoss collection offers wider dial openings and redesigned numerals for optimal legibility, while retaining the exclusive visual countdown feature characteristic of this aviation inspired line. Highlight of this year’s new collection are the remodeled mechanical AirBoss Mach 4 and quartz chronograph Mach 3 models.

Both feature a specialty first introduced by Victorinox Swiss Army five years ago: a clockwise rotation of the movement allowing for enhanced functionality. On the Mach 3 for instance the 180° rotation puts the start/stop chronograph pusher at 8 o’clock for optimal thumb operation.

AIRBOSS MACH 3

When it comes to precision timing on an aircraft carrier, no one is more important than the Air Boss: high above the flight deck in his eagle’s nest, the Air Boss oversees all catapulting, landing and aircraft movements. Tracking, counting down and measuring time are all vital to the many split-second decisions the Air Boss must make in directing the very precise activities on the flight deck.

AIRBOSS MACH 4

The AirBoss watch collection from Victorinox Swiss Army pays tribute to this central figure with aviation-inspired timepieces that combine technical performance with the power of functional design and high legibility.

AIRBOSS MACH 7

With models ranging from Mach 2 to Mach 7 and featuring mechanical and quartz movements, the AirBoss timepieces are distinguished by a unique special feature: a Visual Countdown function based on a bi-directional rotating inner bezel surrounding the highly legible dial. This function, operated by a separate crown at 2 or 3 o’clock depending on the models, allows the Air Boss to precisely track time between launches. Highlight of this year’s new AirBoss collection are the redesigned mechanical AirBoss Mach 4 and the quartz chronograph Mach 3.

AIRBOSS MACH 7

Both models feature a specialty first introduced by Victorinox Swiss Army: a clockwise rotation of the movement allowing for enhanced functionality. On the Mach 4, the small second’s 5 minutes shift to 7 o’clock offers room for an oversized counter with double-sided hands. On the Mach 3, the more radical 180° rotation puts the start/stop chronograph pusher at 8 0’clock for optimal thumb operation. This high-precision chronograph also features a 60-minutes central hand in addition to the regular 60-seconds central hand, allowing for instant and accurate legibility of short time measurements.
