Maurice Lacroix has launched a new skeleton chronograph watch from its Masterpiece series.
This avant-garde model features an in-house manufactured skeleton movement (ML 106-7 caliber) and a large stainless steel case with a diameter of 45 mm.
The precise mechanism, for which a patent has been filed, and the remarkable openwork design are the cornerstones of the new Maurice Masterpiece Le Chronographe Squelette watch.
Offering a new take on the skeleton watch, which had already been fully redesigned in 2007 with the Masterpiece Squelette, this model looks like being a worthy successor. Protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides, the manually wound movement is proudly on display. Beating at the rate of 2.5 Hz this calibre provides a power reserve of 42 hours.
The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Le Chronographe Squelette watch comes with a slate-gray metallic sapphire dial, which offers the view of the mechanical skeleton movement placed beneath it. The watch features three centre hands: Luminova coated hour and minute hands, and a chronograph seconds hand.
The hands of 60 minute chronograph counter at 3 o’ clock and the small seconds counter at 9 o’ clock are shaped like skeletal discs inspired the gears of the movement.
Water-resistant to 100 meters, this timepiece features shaped push-pieces and a ¼-turn screw-down crown. The case features alternating polished and circular/vertical satin-brushed surfaces, which result in a perfectly finished and balanced design.
The sapphire crystal case-back offers the view of manufacture skeleton movement. The Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece Chronograph Skeleton watch is limited to 250 pieces.
