Produced in a limited edition of 125 pieces, the Pirata GMT comes with a black dial: the innovative modular case is made of bronze, burnished/ polished steel and titanium. Also available: an 18 carats gold case, burnished/ polished steel and titanium (black dial, limited edition of 25 pieces).

Secret beaches, buried treasures: Caribbean islands such as Cuba, Tortuga and Santo Domingo were once a favourite hunting ground for famous pirates. Mirroring this spirit of freedom, daring and adventure, Cuervo y Sobrinos pays tribute to the rebellious and romantic side of the buccaneers.

Dial, case, lugs, pushers and materials: each element is an undeniable reminder of the boldness of another era:-

• Anchor motif – a design feature in the GMT version.
• Cannons – the case and pushers are in the shape of a cannon mouth.
• Cannonball – the grooved cannonball is found on the crown.
• Prow – the space between the lugs represents the bow of a ship plundering on the Caribbean Sea.

This timepiece introduces a feature that is new to watch-making: interchangeable rings fitted between the case and the bezel. The watch can evolve over time by playing with various metals carefully chosen to reflect the pirate spirit.

The “humidor” watch box for this unique timepiece could scarcely have taken any form other than a treasure chest containing Cuervo y Sobrinos’ latest treasure. With a cheeky nod to poker, the humidor box also contains a deck of cards.
