OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra, Stainless Steel Case, 41 mm, Silvered Opaline Dial

Introduced in 2003, the Seamaster Aqua Terra models with the silvered opaline dial and  41mm diameter stainless steel case were produced in two different executions: with blued steel hour markers and hands or with red gold-plated hour markers and hands.

The Aqua Terra case combines classic design touches with unmistakable OMEGA traits, such as the tapered and facetted lugs with contrasting brushed and polished finishes. The classic theme continues with the unobtrusive dial, which has applied facetted triangular hour markers and an applied OMEGA symbol and name, as well as a simple polished bezel to complete the sober look.

Luminous points at the edge of the hour markers and luminous inserts on the Dauphine hands (with striking arrowhead indicators on the minute and central seconds hands) offer optimum legibility in all light conditions.

A matching stainless steel bracelet with a sliding clasp and snap fastener or saddle-stitched dark brown alligator leather strap completes these two distinctive models in the collection. The Aqua Terra naturally remains a Seamaster at heart and is therefore fitted with a screw-in crown and case back that ensure perfect water resistance to a depth of 150 metres/500 feet.

These Aqua Terra models are equipped with OMEGA’s exclusive Co-Axial Escapement calibre 2500. This self-winding movement has a meticulous finish of circular-graining, Geneva waves, polished and bevelled bridges, as well as rhodium-plated surfaces, and is certified as a chronometer by the official Swiss chronometer testing institute (COSC). The Calibre 2500 has a power reserve of 44 hours.

Furthermore, it uses the OMEGA free sprung-balance without index, which avoids the disturbing effects of contact between the balance-spring and the index pins and therefore ensures that the stability of rate offered by the Co-Axial Escapement is maintained over long periods of use. The Aqua Terra models with Co-Axial Escapement are also fitted with a transparent case back, revealing the unique movement for the first time.
