Launched in 1993, on the occasion of the company’s 125th anniversary, this Portuguese anniversary watch pays tribute to a striking wristwatch of the 1940s. With this special edition timepiece IWC reinterpreted the iconic ‘Portuguese’, one of the most successful IWC watches.
Introduced in 1993, the IWC ‘Portuguese’ 125th anniversary watch is a limited edition 1,000 pieces in steel, 500 in red gold and 250 in platinum.
A special feature this timepiece is the view of the movement through a see-through sapphire crystal case back. The calibre 9828 in the modern ‘Portuguese’ is based on the original pocket watch Calibre 98.
