Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings

Introduced in 2008, the L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings represents the perfect embodiment of a successful alliance between watchmaking mastery and modern design. Its openworked dial affords a vision of the accomplished technical feats of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier.

This elegant watch with its contemporary lines houses L.U.C Calibre 4TT, a four-barrel tourbillon movement based on L.U.C “Quattro”® technology. An exclusive model produced in a limited edition.

This Haute Horlogerie model powered by a proprietary movement brilliantly combines the best of watchmaking traditions with unmistakable contemporary elegance. Through its openworked dial the Chopard L.U.C Tech Steel Wings Tourbillon reveals the complexity and the meticulous finishing of the sophisticated mechanism it houses.

The stylised hour circle is in striking contrast with the charcoal grey colour of the movement, whilst the blued steel hands and screws accentuate the technical nature of this model. The tourbillon clearly visible at 6 o’clock bears the second hand, while the index power-reserve indication is positioned at 3 o’clock.

Symbolising the dynamic momentum of Chopard Manufacture the shape of the tourbillon bridge evokes two bird wings outstretched in full flight thus offering a sweeping view of the carriage in operation.

At the heart of this exceptional creation beats L.U.C Calibre 4TT, a mechanical hand-wound movement chronometer-certified by the COSC, a solid guarantee of its reliability and accuracy. The L.U.C “Quattro”® technology used in this mechanism features two sets of two stacked barrels generating approximately 216-hour of power reserve.

Beating at the rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the L.U.C Calibre 4TT is equipped with a variable-inertia Variner® balance. Its bridges are adorned with “Côtes de Genève” and the engravings are black.

Water-resistant to 30 metres and enhanced by a sapphire crystal, the 40.5 mm-diameter case is crafted in 18-carat rose gold. The crocodile leather strap is fitted with an 18-carat rose gold folding clasp. Another version is available with baguette-cut diamonds set on the bezel.

The Chopard L.U.C Tourbillon Tech Steel Wings in 18-carat rose gold is available in a limited edition of 100, whilst the baguette diamond-set version comes in a limited edition of just 25.
